Francis Harris and Anthony Collins air their Breakaway edits on an exquisite house session.

Since 2012, the New York-based pair have been honing their vision of deep house across a singles on the Scissor and Thread label and their residency at Brooklyn's The Panther Room, gaining the support of DJ Sprinkles in the process. Last year, they released their debut album You Go Girl, which stayed true to the duo's deep house foundations while also exploring dubbier sounds indebted to Basic Channel et al.

Frank & Tony's FACT mix is entirely made up of their own edits, of Mogwai, Herbert, Roedelius and more. "Over the past few years as our sets became more and more focused on a vinyl format", the pair explain, "when faced with non-working turntables, the turn to digital became more and more of a challenge for us. The vinyl we digitized never sounded quite as good and we both had little patience for searching for music with online shops, so most of the time we were playing our own cuts, which, after a while also became tedious."

"As a result, we started making dancefloor edits of music that really inspired us both artistically and personally. These have now become a central part of our DJ performances from the digital side of the spectrum. The list of edits is growing rather exponentially, so we felt that with this mix we would give a little glimpse into this recent approach in our sets. In a way, this mix is a bit of a list of "greatest hits" in our minds, culminating in the ultimate homage to one of the masters, Roedelius."

Grouper's never grooved quite like this, in other words.

Continuing its mission to bring quality house music, Hungary's Oversized Records releases a collaboration EP featuring Jeff Fontaine and Deep Spelle, named Higher Sensation.
Besides the original track by the duo, four quality remixes are also featured on the EP by underground house pioneers.
The title track quickly establishes a deep, moody atmosphere with a hypnotic sub bass and gradual chord progressions. Vocals are nicely delayed to further enrich an already addictive deep vibe which will make dance floors nod with genuine acknowledgement.
Label boss and upcoming producer Bourne reinterprets the original by adding more percussion and spicing up the chords with subtle delays to give more groove to the track. Shakers and timely high hats make this track more than dance floor worthy.
Hungarian electronic music pioneer Forteba takes a leap and ventures further from the original mix. His version is a progressive, electronica infused journey with a subtle breakbeat base. The climax of the track is definitely its epic breakdown with nice melodic additions. Just a great reflection of Forteba's style, a true masterpiece.
Dandy aka Peter Makto teams up with his producer partner Gregory S to deliver a contemporary groover. Claps give this track a real in your face rhythmic basis, which is likely to move every person on the floor. Adding to the atmosphere are deep and simple chords, which create a melancholic feel to the otherwise groovy track.
Last but not least, the EP features Ilias Katelanos's remix, which relies heavily on swirling chords to drive the track. Ideal for sunshine sets, this interpretation is full of happiness and joy.
A massive release for deep and prog house fans, which is able to represent the talent of contemporary house producers and further establish Oversized Records as a serious player in the underground house community.
