Before the word drone started to be associated with surveillance and warfare. This sequence of drones derived from devices around the house circa 2019 might be from more than one place. I must have been building these up for some composition that turns out to this one. Your never alone with a drone. There are effects and post-recording manipulations. Not pure field recording by any stretch of the imagination, but no Paulstretch in there ;)

Created in the field on January 14th using bespoke VLF radio receivers, Tecsun multiband radio & Hack4M keyed with Cubic SDR software which adds a special range of articulation in bandwidth. Sources are radio waves, so there's instability, unpredictability into the mix, keeps the improvisation on the go. The ensemble en suite.

The first time on the new speedy IC train from Poznan to Zbąszyń that takes only 54 minutes. I was unprepared for such celerity and smoothness. I got on, installed myself and then fell promptly asleep. Luckily I woke up a few minutes before we hit Nowy Tomyśl with only 4 more minutes to be ready for de-training.
