We have been repping at ADE for many years. On October 17th the label will be taking over Paradiso for a supreme showcase of forward-thinking beats and bass. Andy C, Calyx & Teebee, Wilkinson, June Miller, Loadstar and Delta Heavy will be demonstrating their skills and the label have put together a very special album to celebrate… 
‘RAMsterdam Drum & Bass 2013’ is a journey into the darker, moodier psyche of Ram. An exploration of the label’s extensiive repertoire, each track has been cherry-picked to complement the hectic, late night hedonism you’ll experience during ADE’s night schedule. 13 hallmark, agenda-setting tracks dating from as far back as 1996 plus two killer exclusives that you will not find anywhere else, ‘RAMsterdam Drum & Bass 2013’ is a crucial celebration of the industry’s most effective music conference.

Amid unarguable genre-defining classics such as Shimon & Andy C’s oft-referenced, never-bettered ‘Quest’, Fresh’s ‘Signal’, Noisia’s ‘Deception’ and Sub Focus’s ‘Let The Story Begin’, the album is saturated in upfront 2013 shock-outs from the most exciting, respected artists in drum & bass: Hamilton’s speaker-shredding ‘F**K It Up’, Loadstar’s staccato spine-melter ‘Warrior’, DC Breaks’ rush-raged ‘Shaman’, June Miller’s icy scorcher ‘Change’ and Mind Vortex’s planet aligning ‘Arc VIP’. The duo’s first single from their new album has already been supported by Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Trevor Nelson and many more of the world’s leading tastemakers, and ‘All Or Nothing’ looks set to catapult this incredible production partnership to all new heights. 

Calyx & TeeBee’s debut album ‘Anatomy’, released in 2007 on their own label was an instant game changer; cited as a landmark album for the scene ‘Anatomy’ saw the duo unleash an almighty wall of sound that rocked dance floors across the globe as they took to the road with their 6 deck DJ sets, smashing apart sound systems in nightclubs and festival tents alike.  

Now, five years later, hordes of fans are aching for a new Calyx & TeeBee album and the duo are definitely not going to disappoint. Signing to Ram Records, Calyx & TeeBee have produced a long player that sounds fresh, current and forward-thinking. ‘All Or Nothing’ is their sophomore offering and is packed with new ideas, exciting collaborations, stunning musicality and an incredible level of technical skill. 

From the epic opening gambit, ‘Heroes & Villains’, it’s clear that Calyx & TeeBee have created something special with their new album. The D&B jazz fusion of ‘Pure Gold’ ft. Kemo contrasts beautifully with the vocal-led minimalism of ‘Strung Out’ and the hip hop excellence of ‘We Become One’, a collaboration with Foreign Beggars and DJ Craze. No strangers to the bass game, the Anglo-Dutch dynamos have already amassed a major fanbase thanks to their uncompromising production skills and penchant for dark, gritty grooves on  well respected labels such as Horizons, Critical and Nu Directions. This is no mean feat; with a career that includes well respected labels such as Horizons, Commercial Suicide, DSM and Rubik, June Miller’s track record is spotless… And now it’s about to go next level

‘From Autumn To Ashes’ is truly unique. A word that’s far too overused in dance music, this really is one of a kind; and you’ll understand that the moment those crisp guitar plucks bid you a cold welcome. Spooky sonics a go-go; it’s the moment in a B-movie horror where the cute college girls split up in the woods to find their way home. It’s a white knuckle ride on a rickety ghost train. It’s a run through the fog on a mystical winter’s morning when you really should be in bed. It’s the same fine-tuned balance of hunchback punk and laser-locked bass the duo last showcased on Ram just over a year ago with the equally unique guitar-busting floor-blazer ’64 Thousand Dollar’.
 
Naturally ‘Change’ acts as the perfect foil. Dutch singer Sofie Letitre’s vocals stop you dead in your tracks; surging, urging and distinctive. June Miller have brought the very best out in her as they ruthlessly lay the sub-frequency smack down beneath. Searing and tearing, the bass cuts through the mix like with razor-like charm while the weighty kicks double up at will, tripling on the fills for added drama.
