“Worst Poisons Taste The Sweetest” is based on a Shakespeare quote and plays with the theme from Romeo & Juliet: love and passion and their pull towards danger. The quote can be applied to many situations in life, especially in the underground club scene. The power of the night, whose pull can mean fascination and danger at the same time. The track plays with drum & bass and breakbeat elements, clear English vocals spoken by Isabelle, hardstyle kicks and a slightly melancholic melody, which changes three times in the track and thus interweaves more and more with the body of the track and is reduced further and further. This is intended to create a simultaneous pull into the track together with the Shakespeare-inspired lyrics.

In 1991, the Dutch duo L.A. Style, founded and produced by Wessel van Diepen (who later contributed to the creation of Vengaboys), released "James Brown Is Dead." The track made an impact on Billboard's Hot 100 Airplay chart, becoming the first techno song to land on the Billboard Hot 100.

Despite its title and lyrics, James Brown was alive at the time of the song's release and did not pass away until December 25, 2006.

While some sources suggest that the song was inspired by a 1992 broadcast that falsely reported James Brown's death, this claim cannot be accurate, as the song was released in 1991. The actual origins of the track remain tied to the duo’s creative vision, rather than a specific news broadcast.

Following the release of "James Brown Is Dead," the Dutch techno group Holy Noise responded with a track titled "James Brown Is Still Alive," which was also released in 1991. Although L.A. Style’s song suggests that "the hardest working man in showbiz is dead," Holy Noise's track was considered a direct answer, affirming that James Brown was still alive at the time.

In a modern twist, Jeff Millions has taken on the challenge of remixing "James Brown Is Dead," adding his unique sound to the iconic track while preserving its energetic and pioneering techno roots.
