I was sitting at a local watering hole with a really bad case of the blues, when out of the blue my good friend Steve Mohr shows up, plops down and asks " Hows it going?"  My reply was " Steve They ought to put a warning label on guitars" ... His immediate reply was " You should write that song!"  Before I made it home that evening the song was written.  I had a few good buddies sit in with me on this one,  Check out J.D. Sage , Keithy Moore , Cindy , Steve , Rich, Josh, Scott, and who ever else was there as we poke a little fun at ourselves.  I love this recording ...what a blast we had recording this one

He said"If General Lee is after Harrisburg..He'll take the Wrightsville bridge and Lancaster...we need every man to stand his ground...if we cant hold...we'll Burn it Down!

Well ol General Fricks twelve hundred men were streched out a mile ...thats way too thin...up on Kreutz creek a York battalion...fought side by side with som invilids...no one knew if our lines would stand ...when them first shots were fired about 6 pm...when them cannons roared from on top of the ridge...that began the battle for the Wrightsville Bridge!

A shell hit the church on Locust street ...one struck a Captain just above the knee...they unloaded thier artillery...then they flanked us up the Kreutz rivine...From Hallum Hills God they charged again...they captured General Sickles and 19 men...by seven thirty ,Lord they took that town...Frick knew it was hopeless he said Burn it Down !

They tried to blow her down but she never fell...as Gordons men gave the Rebel Yell...they carged and they made it half the way across...but them flames took control ...and the bridge was lost !.................................
When the flames started threatening to burn the town ...them southern boys laid thier muskets down...General Gordon formed a bucket brigade ...they worked with the people....and the town was saved !...now many a boy that watched that ol bridge burn...was marched to his death in Gettysburg....and to this day thier bones are in that ground...a hard days march from where that bridge burnt down.......................
