This is a studio mix, started with an initial live take and then combed over meticulously with automated filters, eq, and fx. This is the same setup I use to play out, minus the automation. There is rarely a point when only one track is playing. I always try to find mixes that feel like a new track emerges from the combination. I imagine the optimal listening environment to be eyes-closed with headphones on, but I also hope you will feel an irresistible urge to move at some points ;)

Joy of the Worm

A second track featuring short-wave radio transmissions, this one seemingly bouncing off the ionosphere from somewhere in Japan. At least it sounds like Japanese to me. The synths are the IK Uno Synth Pro and the Korg Volca Modular.

No keyboard, no controllers, no samples, no computer, no iPad, no pre-recorded playback. . . just knob twiddling going into a RC-20 looper and then an Eventide Space reverb.
