Blimey, Jeff, can you write a song or what?  Reading the comments, so many influences mentioned - and I hear them too - and yet this is unmistakably you.  Despite the lack of your usual set-up, sounds great because it is great.  Three listens aren't enough so I will be back but suffice it to say, superb stuff mate!

sometimes it's just the little things that leap to my ears...the backing vocals "oh..oh..oh" spinning off the "those" of the main lyric, "they'll never drag you down to the places meant for those"...then there is the tone off the guitars (who cares that you're not accessing your usual gear it's the passion and performance that I listen for). ..love the transition to the bridge on the 2nd iteration of "oh..oh..oh"...sweet touches in here, despite the dark veneer of this topic..got to the outro guitars now...sweet indeed :)

Way overdue for something new but I've been living in exile without the usual, albeit modest, setup I'm used to. So this might be pretty rough. And it's full of the usual horror at political realities and way full of schmaltzy velveeta. 

Guitarist note:  I don't have amps at present and was struggling to find a decent direct sound. There is a *free* VST plugin by Neural Amp DSP and online libraries of tone prints, also free, that came to the rescue. Highly recommended.

There is so much talent and variety here, and most of the people are pretty cool too. I love being part of this community. Listening to your music and being heard in return is enough.

Still reading? OK I'm gonna muse a bit. It's hard to fully convey how much this forum has meant to me. There are people I've never met that feel very much like old friends -- and in a very real way they are.
If I follow someone I make every effort to listen to and support their efforts. It's certainly not a transactional relationship but I do tend to limit my follows to people who engage in mutual listening and engagement. If you listen and leave a comment I always try to listen to *your* music when responding! If you follow at random without any feedback I hope you get something out of that too... ; )
