Kekal - The Painful Experience (2001) 2015 re-mastered

The song was written & demoed in 1996 (using Fostex X-28H 4-track analog recorder) when I (Jeff) was demoing songs for http://soundcloud.com/kekalband 's debut album "Beyond The Glimpse of Dreams".. The song was re-mixed in 2001 (basically just transferred all the tracks from the tape to the DAW then added a tiny bit of reverb/room-ambience), so this is a pretty much unproduced track..

Snowy Little Cold Rock (demo 1996, re-mixed digitally in 2001)

One of my oldest song, probably written sometime in 1993 - 1994 during my time in Inner Warfare.. This version was recorded in 1997 (original version was released under Inner Warfare's final demo tape "Works of Transformation" in 1997).. It was then re-mixed digitally in 2001 with added more vocals and electronic loops, but my vocals & all the guitars are original from the 1997 demo recording..

First song written & recorded for Area 58 project in 2003.. It was never released.. I'm glad because it sounds way too poppy for my unpop & picky ears.. :)

Unreleased, alternate 'clean' version of the cover tune "Redemption" performed under Kekal name.

The song was originally performed by Johnny Cash.

The song "Visi" was first written & recorded/demoed in 1999-2000 during the songwriting session for "The Painful Experience" album from http://soundcloud.com/kekalband.. It was rejected by Kekal (dubstep in year 2000?? no way, too early.. :)), and then few years later in 2003 it got re-arranged and re-recorded as part of Area 58 project (not related with Kekal) which never ended up releasing any album..

Even the song itself never got a chance to be included in any of the Kekal albums, a few of the melody lines were loosely used/re-interpreted on "Thy Neighbor's Morality" (off "Acidity" album - 2005) and "Our Urban Industry Runs Monotonously" (off "The Habit of Fire" album - 2007).. Both Kekal albums above can be downloaded for free at http://www.kekal.org/download

This is the 2003 version, sung mostly in Indonesian, and also features vocals of the late Barry Djuhana (R.I.P.)..
