Somewhere in Chicago, somehow in Paris, somebody says Brussels or London, others were thinking about Madrid or Detroit...

Actually we don't really know but we don't care. Because it’s all about music, all about rhythm, all about soul. It’s all about rhythm and soul.
With strong influences from jazz, funk or soul to early house and deep electronic beats, the man behind this project is constantly looking for the perfect groove. Combining classic house flavours, with that jazzy and funky mood that he was raised with; that means, in two words, Rhythm&Soul.

He launch in 2012 his own label, Slow Town records, vinyl only. Releasing underground house music of artists and friends like Joe Babylon, Norm Talley, S3A, Jef K...

And also work for some friend's labels like Silver Network or Organic.

Especially in today's society where everyone is  just consuming instead of properly enjoying something (streaming in 128kbs qualityâ€¦), this really appeals to me.  A file is just a file, but that moment you get a record you've been searching for ages is very special (I've yelled a couple of WOWWWs and OH SHITTTs in record stores) and I doubt someone has ever had that with a file."

	To kick off the month of May, we have a very special DJ/Producer from the brink of Moldova, Hellen Mills. Hellen started her career in 2009 as a DJ. Her first track later appeared in collaboration with Maxim Sunbeat in 2013 on Moonfire Music Lab. She then joined RA+RE records from Paris by signing her debut production work that include a solo track  on Vinyl V/A – RA +RE 002, and her solo debut EP named “Stereomoon” RA+RE 003 on vinyl only with Oshana Remix. Following her successful releases, she continues her journey on a local Moldovian record label – Resonanz, as well as a side project with Maxim called "Leparente." When asked why she’s particular and released on only a few labels she responded, “I am still in the process of developing my production skills and style. I don’t release too much music, because I believe, less is more.” When asked what lead her into this field of profession, she smiles and expressed “My love of music, and my vision of it. I am trying to explain my inner thoughts and world through the beauty of sound. My friends and the atmosphere I surround myself with are all connected to music, so it was only natural to end up here.” When asked to describe her sound, she proclaimed, “ This is a hard question.. I think in general it’s something people cannot describe.. Music is how you feel. Your emotions and thoughts are connected with your mood, and your unique sound is the outcome. I like different music… sometimes more dark or minimal or really good techno for bigger rooms, and then house sound for the daytime. I like being different but sticking true to my own sound.” Favorite city? “Paris, I really fell in love with the atmosphere of this place.” Favorite club to play? “T5 Bar in Chisinau, Moldova... it is a very special place with good people who really love and understand the music. The vibe is perfect.” Favorite DJ/Producer/Labels of the moment? “I really enjoy artists like Ion Ludwig, Dewalta, Rhadoo, Easy Changes, and Binh. Labels like Nervmusic and Perlon are great.. such a musical trip.” Words of inspiration for aspiring artists? “Only one thing matters –the love you have for music and your attitude to it. If you connect your life with music, keep heart and passion in your dreams, and never stop believing in yourself.” Favorite methods to look for new music? “It’s a chain.. don’t look into the names whether big or not.. just listen to the music! New labels, and new artists.. listen to the music of the label, then artists, collaborations and so forth.. but personally, what I really love is the white labels.. no names – just music.” So there you have it, our latest musical journey from Moldovian, miss Hellen Mills . . . just listen ☽ ☯ ♬

For the month of July we would like to present an hour-long vinyl only mix from Faver. Born in Colombia, he’s been establishing his love of music as a DJ for about six years. Sticking to raw and true sounds, artists such as Nicolas Lutz and Francesco del Garda, who are each very unique and versatile, have influenced his approach on music. When asked about the local music scene in Brooklyn, he repented “The scene is growing… I think it has shown a lot of potential and is moving in the right direction. There are few promoters taking chances but there are some great local talents who are helping the cause.” Leaving us with some words of wisdom for aspiring musicians/djs/producers, he says, “I think the balance of staying true and also pushing yourself as an artist is key.” Relax, unwind and enjoy the sounds of Faver for the month of July. . . ☽ ☯ ♬
