I’m a big fan of Fela Kuti and his son Sean Kuti.  In Detroit, I used to listen to “Afro Pop With Georges Collinet on public radio quite a bit (WDET!).  These cats groove like crazy!  I hit that groove here and there with Bird-ish (Charlie Parker*) be bop + Michael Brecker saxophone improvisation on alto saxophone.  Here also, is interplay with the Hammond Organ.  *I write these notes on Bird’s 104th birthday.
