P-Lo's tracks have always been a favorite sound of mine. When I heard 'Type Beat' for the first time, I was immediately drawn to the way the drums carry the rhythm of his flow & so forth. After listening to the track a lot of times, I had originally created a hard-hitting drum pattern + percussion (old timbo vibes) idea at first but after listening to other tracks, I decided to go a little bit more on the chill & smooth vibes of the spectrum. creating those smooth chord progressions, using synth brasses, electric pianos, etc. helped shaped the sound I was aiming for!
