This one came from the break room floor.
I remember the hum of the lights, the coffee spill under my cheek, the taste of metal and irony. They said “you’re fine, just tired,” while my body tried to reboot without permission. It’s not a song about rebellion. It’s a confession about being owned, by systems, by routine, by the quiet voice that tells you to keep smiling while you short-circuit.

I wanted this track to feel like a corporate exorcism. Like the HR-approved version of hell, wrapped in polite fonts and safety posters. Every sound in it bleeds sarcasm. Every lyric is the noise of a person trying to pass the wellness check while their soul clocks out.

They wrapped me in tone and kindness,

The scanner followed me into sleep,
still whispering okay, okay.

I signed the checklist twice.
Swore I’d care, swore I’d try.
The doctor said listen to your body.
I said my body’s middle management, why lie.

Every pulse is a punch clock.
Every sigh is a sale.
I prayed to satisfaction,
and mailed myself to fail.

We’re all under pressure right now.
Can you finish the shift?
I smiled.
Compliance complete.

Too late. I’m open source meat.

If I fall again, don’t call it sin.
Just file me under human error within.
