Currently on tour here in Australia is the lovely, warmhearted Jesse aka Jeku (@jeku_fin), fresh out of Helsinki, Finland - and now based in Paris. 

Jesse and I played together at one of my favourite European spots, Post Bar in Helsinki last year. He's an incredible producer with a great talent for blending trance inspired sounds with a modern twist.- and here he showcases his incredible record collection & dj skills with a mix inline with the same style & class.

About the mix: "This mix is heavily inspired by my recent experiences at Pe:rsona and Ozora festivals, which I attended back-to back straight from one to the other. I found a resurgence in deeper and slowly evolving sets which felt so fresh I wanted to channel that energy into this mix. Best enjoyed outdoors or afters!"

After a brief break period in TheGrid mix series we bring you a special 2 hour set from Non-Temporal head honcho Jeku.

Jeku, who also lived in Berlin and sought inspiration there, is now known as part of the Helsinki-based Local Deep collective. His eclectic DJ sets bring us the sounds of House, off grid 303's and classics. Jeku's production's have been released with the Turku-based Mood of the Era label, with a release on his own Non-Temporal records  (Radical Error EP) finding its way onto Jane Fitz Juno recommendations and for good reasons.

Despite the pandemic, the Helsinki-based producer, radio host & DJ Jeku has had quite a year. His debut 12" release in January on his own non-temporal label didn't go unnoticed and for a good reason. The follow-up, Radical Error EP, in August gained even wider recognition and support from the likes of Jane Fitz and Colino.

Jeku has kept himself busy in studio and it's safe to say his third release in February '21 will surely make his name familiar to a bigger audience. Also known for his Afterglow-show on IDA Radio Helsinki and a familiar figure in the DJ booths at the local clubs he's one to watch for sure.

About the mix:
"I’ve been digging into this progressive sound of late nineties / early 2000s, and I felt like I want to play some of the records I’ve found lately.

There has been a lot of mixes out now with a peak-time vibe to them, so maybe I wanted to do something more relaxed and spacey in comparison. I like the mixture of old and new records in the mix, and I feel like it came together pretty well actually!"
