Jemar Souza is a songwriter and poet from the Bronx, NY. After staying in the background to write songs for other artists proved unlikely to payoff, he started focusing on writing poetry - a side project that evolved into "At the Start of My Decade", a collection of poems he hopes will inspire his peers to chase their dreams. 

The My Decade album features a musical fusion of hip hop, soul, blues, jazz, r&b, and electronic influences. It's lyrical content - inspired by Jemar's ambition, struggles, and exposure to music artists like Janelle Monae, The-Dream, and the Kings of Leon - reflects the hopes, losses, and triumphs of this misunderstood generation, and is sure to touch the nerves of any dreamer who's a part of it.
