CHAOS RADIO #006: Alfie Plant

This week's mix comes from local selector @alfieplant

I first met Alfie when we were running a local DJ competition in collaboration with Paradise Palms. The chap showed up in a cardigan that made him look like Victor from the TV show Still Game. Needless to say, I was impressed and excited to hear his tunes. Alfie jumped on the decks, popped in his USB, and... boom. USB error. Oh, the betrayal, the deception—a goddamn catastrophe.

Fast forward a couple of months, and I invited wee Alfie to join me for a back-to-back set at the local watering hole, Voodoo Rooms. Tunes, tunes, tunes (and plenty of rum and cloudy apple).

I’m excited to share his mix with you. Perfect for lovers of all things Dub, Reggae, and Trip Hop.

Alfie enjoys exploring a variety of genres. He has an appreciation for discovering distinctive electronic sounds that bridge between these styles and all share the quality of making you want to move.

The 7th OOBP Megamix is out now; @daytime-tv’s shake yer tits mix. It was recorded before 2025’s first spout of novel, horrendous news stories hit the gram, but I have personally found it enormously helpful, I hope you do too.

I first met daytime-tv at an early OOBP party and then again at a The Japanese House gig, we had nice chats both times, followed eachother on Instagram, and then at some point I noticed she had changed her name on Instagram to ‘daytime-tv’ and started posting a mix series called ‘It's Friday, I Guess’

Let me tell you, THESE MIXES ARE SO GOOD, like you spend so long searching for DJs who **get** the hyperemotional out of body pop vibe, who draw the dots between modern electronic music and modern pop music, and whadayaknow, she was hiding in plain sight, running little parties with her friends in DJ studios, amazing
