It’s 2021 and the world is still spinning - COVID is still out there too, but hey: let’s stay optimistic! COVID numbers are finally decreasing, normal life is coming back, people are celebrating the summer and it feels like it was all a dream *Biggie Smalls voice*.
Anyhow we decided to continue our little home recording series and this time it's Jen's turn again. Expect one hour packed with some bumping afro house vibes and a lot percussions as a warm-up, some melodic deep house chords for second piatto and stomping techno drums as a main course!

We come closer to the 30th of may, the date of our sixth BAUMHAUS installment at Süss. War Gestern. We already have been to that place and played an 8 hours set and caused süss's first inlet stop. We love these 443 minutes very much, so we decided to share these moments with you, also because this is the longest JB tape ever made. Enjoy.

Jen & Berry's 443min Set Live @ Süss. War Gestern - Sat, 2012 - 12 - 29

Jen & Berry‘s - that is no ice cream, but the young and much discussed Berlin DJ duo. 2010 found each other by accident, Simon and Benedikt merged rapidly to one unit - regarding the music as well as the performance. The one, already active in the scene for a few years, grown up with euro-dance and Dr. Dre hip-hop, the other one, curious experimentalist and great joker. Two totally different people, who create an exciting potpourri of musical emotions and worlds, which finds a far reaching appeal.

Simon, born in the late 80ies, grown up in Berlin, is particularly interested in new, protruding music, but handles classics too. He loves to dive into nightlife and analyses the happening. He is a constant visitor, who does not only listen to the rhytms of techno music since 2005, but does also inspire the audience with his own art of designing a set.

Benedikt, child of the early 90ies and also Berlin-born, is interested in old music most of all. He is a regular guest on various flea markets and expands his collection of old vinyl records. Hans Albers, Frank Sinatra or old film soundtracks count to his favourites. He is casting for the particular nature of music, open-minded for new sounds and trying to transform these old ideas into new music elements.

Beside Jen & Berry‘s DAS BAUMHAUS belongs to their life tasks too. It is an online magazine for electronic music, which is supposed to assist new underground artists, to introduce new releases and which operates an own podcast, which was allowed to greet guests like &ME, Marlon Hoffstadt or Darius Syrossian.

With their own event series of the same name DAS BAUMHAUS they are guests in Berlin clubs like Chalet or Kosmonaut since 2013 and booked friends like Boy Next Door, Patryk Molinari or Mario Aureo.

The typical Jen & Berry‘s sound is riddled with minimalistic sounds, maximum tension, deepest dra- matic art, teetering grooves and driving basses. Aside there appear experimental moments throughout, which throw the disco dancer off the course first, induce thinking then and wrap into trance completely at last - so „a colourful mixed techno ice cream, which caters for all tastes“.

This sound obliged creators of Kater Holzig (former Bar25) already, as well as infamous institutions like SISYPHOS or Golden Gate, but also over Berlin’s borders too - national and international.

So the two were guests in clubs like the Munich-based Rakete, Fribourg’s Schmitz Katze or Hamburg’s Übel & Gefährlich; international should be named gigs in Istanbul, Vienna or the Netherlands.
