Was looking around for my next song-thing to do and found this old, unfinished composition/exercise consisting of bass, synth and piano parts outlining a basically diatonic chord sequence and one simple call/response melody. I added guitars, bass, drums (midi) and keyboard synth pad and just filled it out. 18th to 21st Feb, 2025 - I spent way too long on this, but its all a learning experience, right!?

Recorded my old song from 33 years ago, Blue Dream, 10/11 March 2025, mixed/mastered 11/12 March 2025. I wrote it one day, got up early and said to myself, if I'm a songwriter I'd better write songs. Started with a simple loop - Em C G D, but I wanted it to be different so it became E C G Dm, with a tail E F C G. The next bit was because I like how E and Dm work together, and I wanted something 3/4 (actually 6/8, or even 3/8, but same thing really). Then I had to come up with lyrics, so just made them up on the spot without much thought, except they had to be 'trippy/psychedlic' and had to involve colours. Then I decided the instrumental break had to be completely different, and not the same all the way through. So it was finished by 1pm that same day. I was happy to have written a song, but I didn't like it - I thought it was pretty bleh. But it grew on me, I guess, as I tried to play it.
