"Higher Self" was written by singer/songwriter Jenny Florinicia and guitarist/bassist John McDermott on a sunny August day in 2019 at Rittenhouse Square Park in Philadelphia. Both graduates of the University of the Arts in Philly, Jenny studied Musical Theatre Performance and John studied Bass Performance. This song is a spiritual anthem for Jenny, based off of the yoga philosophy she learned in her Teacher Training at Motherheart Yoga Sangha in Fishtown.
