'Shek O' captures the atmosphere of a beach village located on a south-eastern peninsula of Hong Kong Island. It has a popular surfing beach, and a smaller back beach, with a little fishing port, where you can go for a beer at Ben's bar and you can watch the moon coming up over the South China Sea.

A side of my Loodma release with the wonderfully talented @lyllimusic, Out Now! 

We went pretty deep on this one, a lot of the percussion was recorded live and the main groove was created by tapping an acoustic guitar Andy McKee Style. 

Lylli hand drew the artwork (Unbelievable!).
The artwork is inspired by the words of my good buddy Jimmy and his beautifully written track description: 

"Rush - The precise order of things in nature. Rush’s variety of bleeps, knocks, taps and twitches breath life into a body rhythm, a pace, at which we follow undertone vocals unto a steady kick drum and the notes from a sombre bass. The track’s inner workings are exposed like cogs and gears underneath a watch face. Rush is a descant to verisimilitude, as well as a soundtrack of ecstasy. Homage to the natural world, from the electronic one. It begs to be mistaken for birdsong and tribal drum. Yet, it was borne between the 1’s and O’s, dashes and commands. Keystrokes of a machine masquerading as fine brushstroke of impressionist landscape. Above all else, Rush is special. Airy and light. Commanding and ordered. Ying and Yang. The metal wiring behind human flesh."

Jenova 7 is the musical “nom de plume” of Boston-based multimedia artist Michael J. Sirois (born 1989). His genres include trip-hop, downtempo, chill-out and instrumental hip-hop. He was featured on Mushroom Jazz 8, the latest volume of legendary DJ Mark Farina's iconic chillout compilation series.

He is most recognized for the “Dusted Jazz” instrumental series, distinct for exploring jazz grooves, organic drum breaks and moody, cinematic vibes. His style is influenced by the pioneering trip-hop artists of the 90s such as DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, DJ Cam and Portishead, as well as sample based Golden Era hip-hop producers such as DJ Premier and Pete Rock.

In late 2010, after graduating from college with a degree in film, he moved to Los Angeles for a year and started making music as “Jenova 7” with the trip-hop netlabel Dusted Wax Kingdom. In late 2013, he joined the Los Angeles based Cold Busted record label.

As a self-taught musician, his style has been inspired and guided by his versatile taste in music and his love for visual storytelling. Every album is meant to be the soundtrack to an imaginary film. His albums are a blend of the past and present—a mix of vintage crate digger samples accompanied by live instrumentation. His solo performances often feature original cinematic background visuals set behind simultaneous MPC beatmaking and improvised guitar playing.

He has collaborated with French trip-hop producer Hugo Kant and produced instrumentals for Craig G of the legendary Juice Crew hip-hop collective. He is also a member of the enigmatic trip-hop trio Wax Triptych, alongside fellow artists Mononome & Mr. Moods.

wheres my face . ? I'm a ghost that never did any drugs. as Dali once said, " I dont do drugs, I am drugs..." you'll see what I mean. seriously I'm a synesthesia producing dynamic supra human dancer for one thing. on another, I've literally had deep conversations with junkies that hung around too long regardless of me not doing their dope... they feed off my aura. happy with my "smell" nearby and not - junk crazier craving wise as soon as I left the space. I've noticed it happen with everyone else too. women like it when I dont shower as long as I eat right. like a skunk. no meat no onions. I did experience 5.5 years of college and have degrees in biochemistry and religious studies. i know what a drug and a natural substance is. it's just harder to talk about anything outside the "normal lie" this culture calls reality unless it's a drug user, that's not totally a zombie, unless; the zombification somehow made it more intelligent because no one told it what to do. the zombie just told itself to be smart in a drug induced frenzy that was too strong not to physically change the brain structure. and it happened. everybody is different, we are all the same.
 substances need to be re-explained. too much slavery. you dont get this. stand up walk around, smell the flowers. and then go why the fuck arnt their more flowers everywhere (the kkk burned the flower that made the california mountains purple, the chumash used it to get high and walk all happy and horny)... ( o and shot all the bears in some battle ritual cause they all fat homos but fucking thinking they from Rome still snuffing anybody they dont like.)  ...   aaaand I'm hungry . why doesnt my neighbor have a tree next to the side walk so I can go find freshly fallen fruit the tree gave me this mornin? like this place just east of the garden of eden all around us...  or just leave it for the flies and have a tea, they have to eat to. and they utilize the whole thing for a house too. get it? fallen fruit is a house for some bugs. then they transform and it's all gross and magical...

just because you lack the ability or intelligence to communicate with the birds and the bees doesnt mean that I do. it's a mind to mind sort of situation.
