Inspired by some recent conversations with old headz and also cuz I'ze a bit tired of introverted ponderous vintage House and "credible" muzak for a sec in these damp summer months, I found myself dusting off some old cassette tapes when I ran into this mix from one of the earliest incarnations of Global Darkness.. musta bin like gee whiz 1995 or something? Remember dem days?? Who keeps track anyway... long story short, what I discovered blindsided me a little, as this sound is not really heard anymore these days. Full on XTC laden Rave & Jungle with tearjerkin moments of unity, whale songs & dolphins chanting over breakbeatz, still often with an eerie edge - like some dude with shark eyes is eyeballing you from across the tearoom. It's like a frikkin Odyssee cause its all so damn epic and unapologetic. Fukken VOODOO MAGIC man! 

Sure, everything crashed and burned when the E turned sour and the Siren song no longer lead to and island with unlimited Mead and Punany but instead to terminal dopamine depletion.. fyi, thats when most of us turned into your parents (bring on the Prozac!). Alas, its all part of the 90's legacy, when we had vinyl only dummy, had to do it all in one take, the X-Files seemed legit and the internet was gonna be huuuuuuge one day. And yeah virtual reality was gonna save us all and the future was one of unlimited growth and golden mountains [tm]. The naughties sorta pissed on that parade didn't they? Oh how we laughed, oh how we cried.. time to share the moment or sumting. So kick back, relax yo babysitter and r-r-roll da beats!
