Olivia (@oliviabahouis) & Adrian Csanak (@csanak) is a Slovakia-based Dj duo formed by spouses Lenka and Adrián. In the beginning they performed separately, as Olivia preferred more industrial techno and Adrian melodic techno. Over time, they found each other musically and began to play B2B something completely different. Their sound is a fusion of indie dance, slow techno, new wave, post disco with punk & rock influences. It is a very dancefloor sound with lots of energy but it´s also dark and deep. They play mainly for audiences throughout Slovakia at various club events or festivals.

After contributing to the impactful “Shelter Me/Beats For Beds – The Remix Album”, whose proceeds were donated to the NGO Shelter UK, Ian Vale is back on the cool British label Paisley Dark with an EP to call his own. "Like lots of the tracks I’ve produced, “Loft Music” started out in a completely different place to where it eventually ended up”, said Ian. He also declared that the track was "created during the lockdown – it has been tweaked, played, and fine-tuned to what is now the version presented on this release”. He kindly claimed that he feels incredibly honoured to have remixes by some artists he has genuinely admired and looked up to for some time now. He meant Mindbender, Ed Mahon (SXDNS068), Jezebell, and 33rd December plus Duncan Leitch who reworked the bonus track.

Premiered here, Ed Mahon’s interpretation kept the main aura of the original, especially its acid attitude, but added some extra elements such as trippy synth layers, percussive elements, and a Funk-ish/Disco-ish dash. And before you ask: Yes, cowbells were properly added. But maybe not enough? 😉

Cologne based Jens-Uwe Beyer is releasing this new EP just weeks after his album „The Emissary“ was published on Kompakt’s new sub-label Pop Ambient.
While„The Emissary“ was completed by Beyer on his home island of Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea,„Amor dark pink tencel satin suit“ is very much a collaborative effort. And on exceeding simple classifications.
You’ll get this the moment John Stanier (Battles, Ex-Helmet) jumps in with his remarkable drumming on „White oversized fame yarn bolero with John Stanier“. Stanier plays the bouncer at the entrance of your dark alleyway club... and suddenly the goose bumps you were feeling for the last minutes on our skin explode.
With music this intense, there’s little time to ponder the classification. And when Stanier is done, there is nothing more than a long goodbye in the air, accompanied by the drums and you breathing in and out slowly.
That John and Jens-Uwe are long time collaborators through the outfit „Cologne Tape“ explains why this makes so much sense, despite feeling unheard of before.
If Side A takes 8 minutes of its 13 minutes running time to hit the peak, the 12-minute-long B-side gets down to business by the third.
Collaborator on „Navy stamp degrade print print oversized viscose hulpil with Barnt“ is another Cologne Tape member, Beyer’s Magazine label partner and neighbour Barnt.
Circles everywhere, those ones where you worry they might crash into each other anytime. There is a straight base drum and a snare that somehow bring back memories of the times when industrial was as much of a sound as of a political position – truth be told, these guys don’t seem to do conventional.

The fourth chapter of The Golden Ravedays saga will be released on Hippie Dance in April 2017. Number 4 of the series introduces two further tracks of the sound adventure that Superpitcher is taking us on this year. Side A features Blood and Berry. It is a captivating track that reminds one of the very first years when Superpitcher made music under the alias Sir Positive. The beat is broken and the going is slow and rolling and the listening is a warm bath. There are flutes there that one never wants to stop and they almost don’t. However essentially sweet this track is, like a berry on the tongue, it might lead to some blood on the dance floor!

Listening to Side B of this Golden Ravedays edition is entering a ghost town, alone, under a full moon. Howl is a confluence of melodies and rhythms from Africa to Arabia where the snakes are being charmed out of their baskets and it is downright creepy. A spooky voice is saying something but we don’t know what exactly and it is bothersome because deep down we know that tonight when we are alone in the dark, we should be ready with the answer – or else. All we can do is wonder: Did Superpitcher sell his soul to the vampires for the vocals he let lose in this track? He answers by howling at the full moon behind thorn trees, in the shadows. Entertaining, thoughtful and brave! We salute the wolves and their master. Hooo-oooowl!

Cologne-based musician Jens-Uwe Beyer creates atmospheric, melodic tech-house that ventures into song-based synth-pop as well as more experimental ambient works. Under the moniker Popnoname, he began releasing singles and EPs on German labels Firm and Italic in 2005, and was a regular contributor to Kompakt's lauded Pop Ambient compilation series. Popnoname's debut full-length, White Album, was released by Italic in 2007, and was followed by Surrounded by Weather in 2008. Two years later, Japanese label Plaza In-Crowd released Surrounded by Mars, a remix album featuring reworks by artists including the Field and Ada. That same year, Beyer co-founded experimental music and art label Magazine along with Barnt and Crato. The label's debut release was Render, a limited EP by Cologne Tape, a supergroup featuring all three of the label's founders as well as Axel Willner (the Field), Kompakt mainstay Jörg Burger, and others. In 2011, Beyer released a collaborative album with Drums Off Chaos, a percussion-heavy project spearheaded by Can drummer Jaki Liebezeit. Also in 2011, the three founders of Magazine released their first effort under that name, an abstract house EP titled Concerts, Festivals, Shows and Other Special Events. Beyer's first solo release under his own name came at the end of 2012 with the release of Red Book, a single 80-minute long track. Popnoname returned in 2013 with 50 Degrees, the project's most collaborative and song-based effort yet. In 2015, Beyer released an experimental ambient album under his own name as part of Kompakt's Pop Ambient artist album sublabel.
