OW3 Loek Frey - Decipher

For Omen Wapta’s third release, Loek Frey explores the far reaches of mechanic and organic spaciousness. His first album ‘Decipher’ is melting together metallic  and biological influences. Loek states that the artistic freedom he had during the creative process was a liberating experience: it allowed him to take risks and translate his subconscious into music. Letting go of direction, the irregular complex rhythms still provide a clear and minimalistic approach to sound design.

OW3 contains eleven electronic scapes, some more than others are intensified by layers of clashing atmospheres. Remaining fresh and breathable, elements from different sources coexist in another dimension. The result is a naturally arising composition of sound, with a sense of progression.

Os discos do Racionais fizeram parte da minha infância no centro de São Paulo, onde meu pai tinha uma loja de artigos esportivos. Passei muitos anos ouvindo os versos do Mano Brown e os beats do KL Jay naquele calçadão, e desde meu primeiro DJ set busco referenciar os caras. Foi através do Racionais que eu entendi o poder do "faça você mesmo" e também da pirataria no Brasil como forma de acesso a cultura.

"Da Rave Pra Cá (Intro)" é um trecho de um jungle que fiz com o sample "Onda" do Cassiano, que aparece na faixa "Da Ponte pra Cá" do Racionais. Também tem uma voz fina em referência a faixa "Vivão e Vivendo"!

Trule drops its 9th release and the second in its 10” white label series with a collaboration between label boss Al Wootton and Montreal’s Priori.
Al Wootton heads up the A-side with JL, a deep, dubby and minimal house/techno number.
Priori reworks it into a ‘Sharp Tool Mix’ for the B-side, a rolling, drum heavy techno workout primed for dancefloors.
Priori co-runs the labels Naff and Garmo with Ex-Terrestrial and is one half of the Jump Source project with Patrick Holland.
