NastyCutz is finally back! A journey through all things deep, dark & nasty; this second volume of tasty cuts brings you 10 sizzling tracks from some of the nastiest producers around.

The journey starts with new to the label, Syap, making himself at home with one of the nastiest entries in this year's collection. 'Unaware' is dirty, dark music, putting together seriously messed up vocal effects and a killer vibe to set the mood to something a little more sinister.

Following on, NastyFunk family-member Heston's contribution to the fray is a swinging old school groover laden with samples, 90's vibes and delicious percussive harmonies, plus of course the unmistakeable super-groovy style that we've come to expect from Heston; Swing That Body

With the help of some sexy vocals, we also introduce N.E.R.Y. from Curitiba.. Welcomed into NastyFunk with his thoughtful nasty-disco number; All U Want, the haunting vocal merges perfectly with it's tightly constructed, simple but effective bass-hook topped up with an original percussive arrangement to add his fine entry to the list.

For the 4th entry, Superb Ecuadorian artist Andre Salmon and Russian maestro Upstroke combine forces to extreme effect with the massive Sex Tape. Combining nasty lyrics, huge sub-lines, and a funky 'tongue in cheek' hook, the pair construct an absolute monster to drop when you most need it.

A special warm welcome from NFR is for Sishi Rosch and his unmistakeable & inimitable style that sees this years hip-house entry on the collection. A sure fire ghetto bomb with short-stab sampled vocals off the beat, a contagious hooky melody and superb atmospherics. A guaranteed mood/game changer.

Rising stars, Clouded Judgement's first entry onto the compilation and their introduction to the Nasty stable also marks the arrival of Brasilian artist Diamn via their collaboration. A really fresh take on the scene with its combination of a number of subgenres, pushing the track darker and deeper with it's contagious rhythm, creative breakdowns and recognisable vocal snippet. Plus it sounds massive too!

Also new to the label is local Leeds lad, Rick Hirst, whose penchant for killer grooves is reflected in his entry; Sniffin; a minimal number that doesn't require and frills or spills to ensure a fine example of upfront, out-and-out HOUSE, (made 100% for those club speakers with the gain on full).

On the lighter side of things, we see a return for Tuneon, who fresh from a host of releases on cool labels since his DeepCutz entry, returns with some authentic disco. A reminder of the timeless tracks from old and a testament to how funky the genre can be...

Keeping an equally fun vibe, is Malicious Joy's 'Wasted', that feels like two separate, equally fantastic tracks. Part 1 is a sexy, ridiculously groovy, piece of percussive tech-house; whilst the second half of the track introduces a real bass guitar that takes it to the next level, giving it a real edge, and driving it forward as a memorable piece of dance music.

Finally, last but not least is the second offering on the label from Clouded Judgement, and an all-round atmospheric super-stomper, that sees them working hand in hand with prolific French producer, Rafael Cerato. 'We Can Do' combines a bass synth bursting with flavour with a self-assured huge kick/clap rhythm make sure that the track brims with personality, throughout.

Ever since 'The Wrap Around' dropped in 2012, Detroit Swindle have been on a serious upward trajectory.

Steve Huerta returns to Amadeus with his follow up EP, Apotheke. The transcontinental artist, having recently relocated to Berlin, sees the core of his sound developing, which is especially prominent in a-side belter and title track "Apotheke." The tune, dusted with a slow slung bassline, driving percussion and airy synth melodies, is undoubtedly built for the floor. Backing this you'll find Huerta's joint efforts with ultimate bud Urulu, who's collaboration was last seen on the label in the form of a remix for Huerta's "Take Me Closer" single. The track, entitled "Swing Set," pushes its 4/4 signature through pulsating kick drums, filtered pad work and an unconventionally swung groove.

On the flip you'll find Steve's third contribution to the release, "Kingsley's Groove." given its name as an ode to a feline friend. Backing this you'll find Tartelet Records' own Glenn Astro flipping the track into it's pumping glory.

Its easy to see why Prince Club have made a name for themselves in a saturated market. ‘Hang On’ typifies the duo’s sound, rolling drums, a grooving bassline against a cute vocal that is catchy from the get go. Sure to be a firm favorite for many this summer!

Raffa FL looks set for a big year and many ahead. Really hitting his prime we’re excited to have Raffa a part of the GTR family. ‘My Time’ evokes various emotions as the track progresses. Starting off as a heavy grooving bass track transcending into a moment of euphoria before being thruster back onto the dance floor. Powerful stuff & a key track for your summer locker.

No strangers to the house scene, ‘Invisible Cities’ is a duo made up of 2 well renowned producers in their own right. After midnight, is a big room bass track with garage esq percussion and an anthemic vocal. This track really does kick off the career of ‘Invisible Cities’.

Lee M Kelsall returns to the label, this time with an original. As always Lee offers a lighter take on house, infusing disco and his love for us garage into a beautiful song perfectly accompanied perfected by Shane's vocals.

Daniel Dexter’s reputation as party starter extraordinaire keeps on growing – a result of his punishing touring schedule and consistently exceptional output of some of Europe’s top electronic labels. But it’s fair to say that Berlin based Dexter’s most rewarding and boundary-pushing work so far has been courtesy of Poker Flat Recordings – which makes this edition of the Hamburg imprint’s Focus On series very timely. 

Focus On Daniel Dexter joins the already illustrious company of previous releases that featured Argy and Guido Schneider, and is set to bring Dexter’s unique brand of dancefloor mayhem to yet more ears. Having spent 2012 touring the world and ripping up dancefloors in every way imaginable, this release brings into sharp focus the force of nature that is Daniel Dexter.  

The release draws together some key releases and distinct high points of his sound over the last few years, as well as giving us some very exciting glimpses of what’s in store in the future – scattered throughout this weighty release are numerous unreleased and exclusive cuts set to detonate dancefloors throughout 2013.  The exclusive tracks are available on the vinyl release, while digital customers can pick up all 13 unmixed tracks. What’s more, the album is also being released on CD as an exclusive mix made by Dexter himself, showcasing not only his expertly crafted tracks but his unique and highly sought after mixing skills – not to be missed! 

The journey starts with ‘The Other Day’ – Dexter’s emotional mood setter sounding as good as ever – a true slice of atmospheric dance music as you’ll hear. The album also makes sure to stop by some other Dexter-defining moments, including ‘No House for Old Men’ from 2011, and a trio of stunning releases on Poker Flat from 2012 – ‘Sirens’, ‘Storm’ and ‘Murder’.  Each was a master class in dynamics and production savvy, referencing classic sounds but never being overawed by them. Dexter’s astounding remix for Zombie Disco Squad’s ‘Righteous Sound’ on Made to Play is another case in point- tight, punchy, and filled with a menace and attitude that is all Dexter. 

Dexter’s skills for balancing the needs of dancefloors to the more cerebral needs of the home listeners is clear - and nowhere more so than on the new and exclusive tracks on this release. ‘Birds’ has a lightness of touch that makes it perfect for very early or very late in any set. ‘Night Away’ is more upfront but maintains a jazzy undertone and boasts a smouldering vocal from Geraldine Roth – and also comes with a handy dub version for the DJs. ‘Raw Land’ is a firing late night house monster, deep and trippy and sure to turn a few floors inside out when played at the right moment. 

‘Papillon’ builds dramatically, utilizes its few elements to create a wicked groove reminiscent of classic period Carl Craig, while ‘Why So Serious?’ adds another dimension of edginess to the proceedings. 
‘In To The Wild’ further references Dexter’s debt to Detroit, but transcends the sum of its parts to create a lush and emotive deep bomb.  Rounding off the album is Dexter’s upcoming remix of Gender Bombs ‘Danube’- a perfect way to close this epic journey- sitting somewhere between trip hop and deep house, this track showcases Dexter’s extraordinary diversity and sure touch for emotional dance music.
