Theme Challenge based on "Rey's Theme" by John Williams. I took notes of how he orchestrated the piece and used similar arrangements in mine. Had a lot fo fun since it's a style I'm not used to!

Hey guys! Here's my quick take on the #EvenantHalloweenChallenge ! I had 2 main goals composing this one : not using too many clichés, and using a scale I've never used before! So here it is :

- I've been diving into Joe Hisaishi's music recently, his approach to composition is so unique. That led me to learning about the Miyako-Bushi scale (Japanese scale also known as Hirajoshi). So I wrote this piece in C Miyako-Bushi (C, Db, F, G, Ab) and I had a BLAST. It's so refreshing.

- I also worked on taking the orchestral sound a step further with FX and sound-design. So for exemple : Using Col Legno with a delay, recording and using my guitar through an old cassette, sampling kid toys, etc :)

So for me this was more of an etude than a track, but I'm happy I stepped out of my comfort zone!

I've taken an old tune I composed for a Theme Challenge and decided to apply the new orchestration techniques in my toolbox, as well as adding a b section and an ending. I also modulated quite a few times, I need training with that!

Challenged myself to remake a track in one day. I'm not really an "epic music" composer so it was a good homework to get better at it!
