This one is a fictional story of a boy who lost his Dad, older now but still a kid, reflecting on his loss, just old enough to barely remember him, too young to have made enough memories to hold on to, and whose Momma is so heart-broken, she is unable to move past her own sorrow, to be there for the boy, to start a new life.  Desensitized, lost, and full of grief, his father’s memory is fading, making the pain of loss, and his desire to be loved even greater.  The irony is in Momma’s song, how the boy is drawing parallels to his pain while she sings of hers, and they’re so lost they can’t find each other.
