Another Bobby Bradford original.  Took it to New Orleans on this one. Stayed the course on this track. Didn't sway from a classic New Orleans bass line. Not easy sometimes, as I hear sub-melodies in my head while tracking. Voices in my head!  LOL!

Straight And True

This song almost didn't make it on the album primarily bc I felt the lyrics were inappropriate for a husband of 20 years and a father of 2.  That said, musically it might be the best produced track on the album.  It's very rhythmically unique.  I wrote this song in the late nineties but the second verse was written near the time of recording since I forgot the lyrics.  I have changed some lyrics in my older songs in cases where an update made sense or if I just forgot or lost the original lyrics.  That said, songs on the Crushing Days album retain about 90 percent of their original version.  'I Was There' is the 6th single from my 'Crushing Days' album which releases on 5-23-2025.
