Many years ago I used to go on very long walks to clear my head and exorcise things that sullied my mind at the time.  I would walk and walk and walk until the only thing left to think about were the sounds of my footsteps and the cracks in the pavement.  When I started fiddling with this a few years ago it seemed to bring me back to that place.
