This is a recording of some interactions on a black grouse lek in the highlands of Scotland. 

It was recorded with a Sony M10 and a matched pair of Clippy EM172 mics.

Lock is a track from my latest album, Expanse. It's my most recently recorded music, completed in January and February 2022. It was made during a time of reflection and deeper understanding, new ideas leading to new discoveries. Emotive, peaceful and atmospheric, I hope the music helps bring some calm and space to everyone who listens.

The artwork was made alongside the music using purely analogue techniques and will be available as limited edition of 25 handmade books which can be bought with the physical album. 

The books consist of eleven original artworks, two covers and one piece per track. Professionally printed on recycled paper and personally constructed using a handmade paper cover. 

All tracks produced using the following equipment, performed and recorded live to 1/4” tape on a Revox B77 Mk2.

Midnight With A Visitor & Coyotes

Dusk in the tall coastal forests near Myrtle Beach in Murramarang National Park, NSW, Australia. On this evening the Kookaburra's and Mole Crickets created a wonderful droning symphony.
Murramarang is located in the South Coast region of NSW, a region known for it's stunning beauty, rich forests and beautiful quiet. I sometimes went hours without hearing planes/cars, etc. a real rarity in this day and age. 
It's a place where you can feel remote and at peace. I miss it a lot.
Recorded on the 30th of March, 2015.
My deepest respect to the rightful owners of this land, the Yuin people, past and present, who used to live and roam across this beautiful place.

This is an edit of recordings from the highland rainforests of the Huon Peninsula in Papua New Guinea.

These recordings were made during a recent trip to PNG with several colleagues from the Australian Wildlife Sound Recording Group. This edit contains some highlights from the four weeks we spent trekking and recording in the mountain forests above 2000m. 

In the near future I'll be making these recordings available in full, but for now, this is some of what we encountered.
