Arpy Brown returns to Toy Tonics with his 3rd EP ‘U Never Listen’ on the German powerhouse dance label. Having studied music at Goldsmiths in London, Robin Braum aka Arpy Brown is known for exploring the more playful side of house music and those genres around it, rich in instrumentation and variation. More performative than ever, ‘U Never Listen’ comes full of vocals, performed instruments, lively arpeggios, no samples, but racked with hooks. Having played and sung in bands all of his teenage years, Robin is picking up singing again on this record on title track ‘U Never Listen’ and ‘Maybe’. ‘Release Me’ features beautiful, multilayered vocals by Allysha Joy, known for her solo work on labels like Gondwana and First Word but also for being the voice of Australian cult outfit 30/70. It’s not the first time the two collaborate after Arpy Brown’s remix of 30/70’s ‘Tempted’ on Rhythm Section reached millions of plays across the world. The EP is also a product of Robin’s deep friendship with Arpy Brown founding member Avi Barath who co-wrote many of the songs.

Part of the core Toy Tonics crew alongside Barbara Boeing, Cody Currie, Kapote, Sam Ruffillo and Gee Lane (whose debut EP just dropped and was co-written and co-produced by Robin), Arpy Brown has been touring across Europe this year and a full Australia tour is lined up around the EP. ‘U Never Listen’ comes fresh off the heels of his collab EP ‘Into You’ with Amy Dabbs on Aus Music. Generally taking a communal approach to music, Robin has been hosting intimate nights with DJs from far across the electronic music ecosystem since 2019. Guest sets from the likes of Seb Wildblood, Jitwam, Rebecca Vasmant, Fouk, Amy Dabbs, Hidden Spheres, Will Saul and some of the scene's brightest new talents have made for some unmissable parties in London's and Berlin's cosiest venues. In line with this ethos, he also co-ran artist collective and record label Squareglass - a proudly established home for new artists coming out of South London.

Arpy Brown's work has seen regular support on radio stations worldwide incl. BBC Radio 1 and 6 by the likes of The Blessed Madonna, Sarah Story, Jamz Supernova and Danny Howard. His last Toy Tonics EP 'Nogueira' saw him on the cover of Spotify's Fresh Finds.

Inspired by Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem, Ethical Drift fuses jazz with modern disco, punk and house vibes. Pushing the limits of live and recorded music, Ethical Drift is known for high energy, eclectic performances that move the bounds of Indie Disco and House Music.

Sowing together the EP is Parisian house producer Larry G. His piano heavy bass bouncing remix is the perfect union of New York Indie Disco and French Touch.

A fashion model for the likes of Vogue Italy, Alexander Wang and many more, JP has also been integral to bands like Basic Vacation who released on Capitol Records and Troy Carter’s Atom Factory Music. A former member of The Nectars, JP was part of two fiery European tours that became fabled in the NYC third-wave post punk scene.

Mona Musique is the imprint from Nick V, curator and resident DJ behind longstanding night Mona. First and foremost the vinyl-only label is an embodiment of the Parisian parties that have been bringing together Voguers, Waackers and club dancers for almost a decade. Inspired by and paying homage to the hedonism of Deep House, vintage Garage and classic Disco, Nick has shared the decks with originators of the calibre of Mike Huckaby and DJ Deep, to exemplary contemporary selectors such as Honey Dijon and Gideön. The party being somewhat unique in its identity, form and energy, it’s not surprising Nick V and the Mona dancers were featured on Boiler Room TV, with special showcases at Concrete Paris, Rock en Seine Festival, Le Sucre Lyon and Prince Charles Berlin, in recent years.

Biography:

Jeremy Juno (1982, the Netherlands) started DJing when he was 14 years old.
During these years he developed a wide range of styles he likes to play.
All his influences got him into delivering Deep Soulful tunes which can easily flow into Tech House, Techno and Tribal House.
This variety can also be found in the tracks he has been releasing since mid 2008. With a global imprint Jeremy Juno has released on several labels.
