"This little mix is a documentation of a magical summer in my house. I've had friends stay over during an intense long heatwave, and these tracks have been sketched out while hanging out drinking aperol spritzes and chilled wine, and after my friends have gone to sleep. It's a combination of sketches, short jams, almost finished tracks and repurposed bits. 
For those wondering who I am, I am a guy operating, quite comfortably, from the shadowy underbelly of the european experimental techno scene since the early 2000s. I was talked into releasing an EP on 030303 Records in 2014. Since then I've put out more stuff on Analogical Force, Love Love Recs, U.T.T.E.R., Furthur Electronix. 

I’ve gotten reports that both Autechre and Aphex Twin have DJ:ed my tracks, which is perhaps my biggest (second hand) achievement so far, since they are known for quite different styles of music.

US artist Danny Daze, out of Miami, has long been affiliated with the more electronic side of dance music. From the early days in the electro scene and more abstract forms of techno, the Omnidisc boss has covered a lot of musical ground since then. Helping to reimagine the underground landscape, Danny was pivotal in the early 2010s club sound with releases on Hot Creations, Ellum Audio, and Kompakt. He soon turned his attention back to the obscure side of the dancefloor and IDM. As much a music lover and dancer as he is an artist, he knows exactly what works on the dancefloor and his recent album “::BLUE::” on his own Omnidisc imprint exemplifies this ethos. This Smoke mix is by no one other then Jeffrey Sfire an household name in the elecontronic music- and queerscene. Originally from suburban Detroit. Behind and in front of the scene pushing sounds and providing platforms. 

As a producer he had a lot of projects: Sfire (with SOPHIE), Looky Looky, and Pushing Movies with releases on labels such as Dark Entries, Cocktail D’Amore Music and Ultramajic. 

With this Smoke mix Jeffrey evokes a timeless contrast between melancholy, heartache, loving and hopeful at the same time. It might be the balance of life or it suits the feeling of the nearing end of summer which is just as finitely as good and bad times.
