Navigating us through these topsy turvy times, Joris Voorn whisks us back to a 92 state of mind with this powerful update of a stone cold Dutch techno classic.

Originally produced by The Tellurians (AKA Robert Smit, Ferry Corsten, John Matze and Rene de Ruyter) the original 'Navigator' was a humungous hit across Europe and helped to define the exciting European sound that was emerging in house and techno at the time. Now, 29 years later, the Spectrum boss closes the loop with sincerity, clarity and some seriously heavy bass.

Lowering the tempo, fattening the groove, bringing that demonic one-word vocal to life and adding weaves and weaves of little production details, 'Navigator' has been modernised with subtlety and dark nocturnal soul. Already a key track in Joris' 'Global Underground 43' mix album last year, this marks a whole new lease of life for a track that's older than many of us DJs and ravers alike. Released as the entire scene enjoys a whole new lease of post lockdown life.

In the face of Agents Of Time's imminent album debut "Universo" we're allowed to take a final glimpse at the things to come before the curtain gets lifted on October 14th. "Pulses" is classic AOT prime time entertainment with a good measure of their trademark passion for monumental melodies we've come to adore during their showcases all through this fading summer. Spectrum welcomes Mitch de Klein. Sonically, creatively and emotionally he's been a kindred spirit of Joris Voorn's label since day one. But only now is he making his debut with two exceptional late night adventures. Timing is everything.

'Mankind' sets the agenda. Written by Mitch to purposefully take the dancefloor through a range of emotions, it start off gently before easing us through a whole manner of dramatic twists and turns. Expect the unexpected and savour every second of those pianos when they eventually land in the mix.

'Resilience' hits with equal amounts of beguiling charm and drama. Written specifically as an end-of-set moment, it's a deal-sealing moment of reflection as once again we're taken on an exciting mission through elements and emotions joining the dots between house and techno with heavy melodic intent.

People throw the word 'journey' around all the time in our game, but these really do take you on a wonderful trip. Let's hope Mitch's own personal journeys bring him back to Spectrum very soon.

Jerome Isma-ae combines the behind-the-curtain knowledge of a music producer, with the familiarity and deep knowledge of a dance floor you would expect from a DJ. Broad in his influences, and a visionary in his approach, you’ll always catch a hint of progressiveness in his sound. Jerome has been surrounded by music since his early years, with musical education in elementary school, learning the piano and later the guitar. At 12, Jerome was already playing the bass guitar in a heavy metal band, but it wasn’t until 14 that he started making his own beats with a drum machine.
Having dabbled in many dance music subgenres, you will catch glimpses of Techno, Trance, and Progressive House in his productions. A mean and heavy rhythm section is contrasted against haunting harmonies and counter melodies, and complimented by ambient and textural layers that add a new dimension to the final product. This formula is applied with top-notch clarity and a meticulous attention to detail to such an extent that the sound of his drums has become both recognizable and memorable.
