This week we are joined by C. Da Afro, who has been producing groovy house and disco tracks for over a decade.

The Greek-born artist was raised in the golden era of 80’s Funk, Soul, and Disco, providing a colourful injection of inspiration to his record collection. C. Da Afro has released his own funk-infused productions on the likes of Midnight Riot, Editorial Records, and Hot Disgits. His brand new four-track EP, Disco House MasterClass Vol.5 is out now on SpinCat Music.

German digital label Emerald & Doreen is celebrating its 400th release with a continuous 'Best Of' mix courtesy of Jerry Bouthier. 

The regular collaborator delivers yet again a vibrant rollercoaster mix, assembling and editing in one epic excursion some of the imprint's strongest tracks of late. In just over an hour the French DJ/producer, veteran Kitsuné stalwart, sound-designer for fashion and eternal advocate of futuristic emotions, expertly encapsulates this atypical label's diverse thunderous moods (from vocal-led biggies to heads-down stompers and back) notwithstanding all tied-up by the label's uncanny fondness for vintage synthetic sounds and inspired melodies at the crossroad of synth pop, new wave and electronic disco.

Starting humbly as eclectic refuge for bedroom creators of varied individual ilk, Emerald & Doreen, conceived almost a decade ago, has courageously carved out its own personal niche in the electronic music constellation and blossomed into a reliable stable of international talents originating from the four corners of the globe. Thanks to its relentless output and dedicated flair, it has developed into a consistent purveyor of some of the most exciting computer-based dance music around: a melting-pot of electropop, dark disco and other italo, cosmic, nu-disco, indie-dance. hybrids of today. The Home Stream  is a special live stream on 11 & 12 March 2022 featuring 21 Singapore-based DJs against the backdrop of 6 cool venues across the island. An initiative by #savemusicsg, and inspired by Singapore's once vibrant music scene, it hopes to remind everyone of the importance of music in our lives, and strives towards striking up that all important & long overdue conversation with the government to allow live music again, and to reopen the live music/ nightlife/entertainment industries. These industries have gone silent since the nation first went into lockdown in March 2020. Beyond the economic impact, this has left a void in these industries driven largely by passion, within a nation that believes that passion makes anything possible.

Loads still needs to be done to get the livelihoods of those affected back on track so we do hope you will continue to support future #savemusicsg initiatives.
