Earlier this year Desert Dwellers released their most diverse album in the duo's long career. The Great Mystery was the first full length collaborative project between the main founders Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, and featured a wide range of styles and aesthetics from downtempo and psychedelic dub to tribal trance to exotic house and techno flavors.

To celebrate the special release, Desert Dwellers have curated an ambitious two-part remix album full of contributions from some of the brightest luminaries and rising talents across the underground electronic music landscape. The Great Mystery Remixes Part 1 is slated for a September 21st release, and features sonic reinterpretations from Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Hibernation, An-ten-nae, Kaminanda, AtYya, Tribone, Twin Shape, Land Switcher, Drumspyder, and Govinda. The second part will be released in late October with contributions from Emancipator, Whitebear, Sixis, Mystral, Supersillyus, Halfred, Master Minded, and many others. With artists from across the globe and musical genres, these carefully crafting renditions of Desert Dwellers' The Great Mystery are a potent combination of immersive soundscapes that pay a loving tribute to the original compositions.

Is wideness – furrow by furrow and line by line is passing by when paths are
merging and diverging in one single moment.
The paths of the two Schallfeld-members Philip and Jörg, both children of the 80ies, also first
merged 2008 in Halle and diverged again until in 2015 Schallfeld was created. In the years
before Philip, Erfurt-born PhD student of biology, was caught by the rising ElectroSwingwave
and as DJ started participating the Hallish club culture. Jörg, producer originating from
a German Rap Project discovered his passion for the minimal sound of the 00ies and founded
a Live-Electronic-Project with two musician-friends. In the following years both projects
showed up in various German cities like Halle, Leipzig, Berlin, Erfurt and others - and
sometimes also at the same party as following acts. Paths merge and diverge. When in winter
2013/14 a new studio merged various musicians and projects together, the two met again and
soon found a common interest about tech-sounds in all their simplicity and complexity. In
spring 2015 they started producing first demo tracks and first sessions and half a year later a
first release was droped. By now EPs for the Berlin-situated labels Grossstadtvögel and Finn
Records were published and several EPs are already planned to come out summer and
autumn this year. Dont miss it!

Ein ganz normaler Tag am Meer.

Die Badeshorts sitzen leicht und bequem. Das rot gepunktete Bandana kühlt zumindest ein wenig meine Stirn. Aus dem kleinen Holzverschlag der Badeaufsicht dröhnt dumpf der Bass. Immer diese eingebildeten Baywatch Typen...
Mittlerweile hat die Sonne ihren Höchststand erreicht. Langsam schlendere ich durch die Dünen, den heißen Sand unter den Fußsohlen. In einer Mischung aus hüpfen, laufen und stolpern, erkämpfe ich mir den Weg zum Strand. 
Soweit das Auge reicht himmelblaues Wasser.
Plötzlich kommt Bewegung in die unendliche Weite. Die Gischt schäumt hoch. Welle trifft auf Welle. Das reflektierte Sonnenlicht tanzt mit der Anmut einer Sternschnuppe auf der Wasseroberfläche.
Langsam erhebt sich eine Gestalt aus dem salzigen Nass.
Wunderschön und Makellos.
Ihr Lächeln ist tiefer als der Grund aller Ozeane zusammen.
Das blonde lange Haar fällt gelockt auf ihre Schultern. Die Schwanzflosse schimmert in allen Farben des Regenbogens.
Ich beginne zu laufen, folge ihrem Ruf und stürze mich gemeinsam mit ihr in die Fluten.
