This new version of Weekend harks right back to the Phreek original from 1978 with beautiful orchestration, live percussion, subtle electronics and all the other ingredients of the classic disco sound.

Add in a echo heavy dub and you've got a crowd pleaser with more panache than most.

Vintage instrumental disco from 1981 from New York DJ and remixer Tee Scott, sampling heavily from Jimmy 'Bo' Horne's classic "Spank".
A nice mellow sound for the early warm-up hours of a club night. However, I found it difficult to fit in a set, so here's a rework that to me is easier to mix in. Feel free to grab.

ABOUT ME:

In case you're wondering, the name comes from German football legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as it was kind of hip to use German DJ-monikers back in the mid-90’s, when I started getting serious about spinning records as resident DJ at Copenhagen club institution Rust.

Since then I've played a large number of clubs and events in our wonderful city. Including Vega, Jolene, TS Bar, Gefährlich, Bakken, Karriere Bar and many more. And at events for a.o. Vice Magazine, Levi's, Saatchi & Saatchi and Zentropa.

I usually blend house, indie, rock and disco for the dancefloor, but when it comes to throwing the feet on the couch (or the bar, for that matter), I also slip on electronica, singer/songwriting, dub and alternative pop.
