2021 and another year done… omicron surging through my veins as i write this. Man, every year we ask the team to send us their tracks at Halloween and every year we’re chopping and changing moments before launch. But that’s how it’s gotta be and that’s what’s so vital about this series, now in its 12th year. This never gets more relaxed. We should probably be spending this time of year chilling out and reflecting on what’s coming over the horizon but vinyl lead times already got us making records for July. It’s like the digital and the physical world are pulling further and further apart.

We hope you love this compilation as much as we do. Thanks to the artists and everyone involved in getting this together. Special shout out to Scott Pilgrim, Leo Martin, Issac Larose and Emmanuel Mauriès-Rinfret for their images and code. Cameron Morse, Abdullah Al Wali, Albert Carter Philips and Jennifer Metcalf. This April 10th, Himera tears through clouds of spring sunlight with their new double single Keep Me Safe / I Still See You — redefining their relationship with trance and blasting off into a new galaxy of high-impact club music following their recent single N-eThing4U.

On Keep Me Safe, Himera’s production surrounds Sussy’s angelic vocals, acting as protective armor over a radiant wave of synth pads. It’s like watching rocket debris fall through the night sky with your crush. I Still See You builds gradually into an explosive high-energy bass breakdown, with a dramatic vocal performance from Nora Korra that revives the sensation of a romantic nightlife memory.

The rare B-side Tuyou starts with a stuttering, hypnotic vocal loop before blooming into a blend of piano and strings. It’s a raw, intimate cut that shines in contrast to the cinematic tracks that precede it.

"Memory Music" is the debut EP from Danish composer and sound artist David Engelbrecht, aka Dudde, coming out in full on April 24th on katharsis. Crafted over several years through the careful gathering and processing of sonic fragments, the release captures the emotional weight and wonder of sound as memory. Each track is a small time machine, inviting listeners to drift between past and present - those moments when a single sound unlocks a flood of forgotten feelings, places, and people.

Moving seamlessly between ambient textures and sharp, high-paced drum patterns, Memory Music balances clarity and chaos with a sense of play. Breakbeats collide with nostalgic synth lines, melodic motifs shimmer alongside digital shadows, and echoes of vintage videogames flicker in and out like ghosts. It’s music that remembers and reimagines all at once - where fragments of the past become blueprints for the future.
