I wrote this last summer and was unsure how I felt about it, then my brother stumbled across it and started jamming it out the speakers, and it grew on me.  It's about how one day I am going to grab onto the season of summer with all my teeth and not let go.

Weaving in and out of houseparties within Canada. Touring with father during summer breaks (as a reckless dancer XD).  Quitting Uni in further search of musical opportunity.  Frolicking amongst the Werewolves of London, learning about busking and not mentioning such things at the borders.   In the bars of Australia, but mostly in the natures.  A brief stint aboard a cruise ship in a cover band.  tripping along the west coast and into Mexico and back, with 12 other dirty hippies, chased by a long stay in India.  Being Schizophrenic makes for a lot of unusual memories. 

 Thoughts of mold growing atop a fancy pair of leather shoes while trudging through the jungle.  Being huddled next to a trouble light for warmth, while sleeping in a rolled up rug in a garage, in the middle of winter.  

Phineas Gauge is an organic gestalt, a musical family centered around unique songwriting, rooted within universally related emotions.  While some songs are more whimsical in nature;  Others are created with the intent to make you feel rather than safe and entertained.  A multi-genre entity that believes firmly in tandem experiencing and delivering sonic revelations 
The original Phineas Gage, was a railroad worker  who suffered a tragic accident, when a tamping iron he was packing explosives with, went through his head. They survived yet their personality changed.  Phineas Gauge metaphorically likens the tamping iron  to music,  permanently and positively altering their personalities in an utterly profound way.
The band Phineas Gauge playfully changed ‘Gage’ to ‘Gauge’ to indicate a form of measurement.  As if to say, how does one measure the significance by which one is changed by such potent cosmic forces..
