I wrote this song a while ago but stumbled across it today. So I re-recorded it. If you don't know my mum's story, She came to Perth as a single mum with two little boys, my two older brothers. Being afraid of what people would think of her, thinking she'd be judged and criticized, she put it all aside in search of Jesus, she went to church that Sunday and met him on that day. The rest is history!

I Remember (mum's Song)

Feeling lost and uncertain about my future, I've been questioning a lot of things I've known and if maybe I could've done more. The older you become the more change will follow. So I wrote this song about all of the above and how sometimes I just wish life could just stay the same way it was. Growing up is a scary thing but it's what we need to do.

The lyrics I wrote express the uncertainty and ups and downs of a past relationship. You don’t know how long it will last, but you both gave it your all. It starts off okay, but then shows how quickly things can turn for the worst, and how saying goodbye is painful. The contrasting imagery of the sun rising in the evening and the moon glowing in the day reflects the confusion how you can feel about missing someone who may not be right for you. Despite having similarities, the fights tested the strength of love. And now, you're left wondering if they're happy without you, while still holding onto the hope of a happier future together.

Angel

November is the month for prevention and awareness of men’s mental health and suicide prevention. So I combined past experiences of my own and those I’ve heard from others. I woke up this morning with this melody in my head. This song came to me as a way to process some events I’ve been through over the last 1.5 years. I hope you enjoy.
