Jesus stood, no pulpit raised
Just the hillside, crowd amazed
He asked, “Would your own child’s wish
Be answered with a stone, not fish?”

“You know even as earthly parents yourselves
You give good gifts from kitchen shelves
So tell me why you think the Lord
Would twist your prayer or break accord?”

You ask for fish, God will give you fish
You ask for bread, God will give you bread
He’s a God who lavishes on his children
He is kinder than earthly parents
He is our Father of Lights

But some folks preach with sideways eyes
Say pain's a gift. In a holy disguise
They serve a god who’ll bait and switch
Like Jōb’s friends with a polished pitch

But Jesus taught with bold delight
Said, "Pray, and you'll receive it right"
He didn’t hedge or complicate
He knew His Father, knew His state

You ask for healing, God gives you healing
You ask for going debt-free, God makes you free
If you ask, He will even give you riches to lend
He is kinder than earthly parents
He is our Father of Lights

Don’t listen to absurd teachings
That suffering is God's decision to teach us something
Pain is never His will
Never justify failure
Never justify disappointment
Faith gives exactly what we ask
This is Jesus' theology
In wonderful simplicity

You ask for peace, He gives you peace
You ask for joy, He gives increase
He’s not the god who mocks or hides
He answers plainly, no double sides
He is our Father of Lights

Jesus knew the Father best
He told us straight, forget the rest
When you ask, He gives, no disguise
He is our Father of Lights
