Hi, I'm Nicolaas Kraster, I wrote this song about six years ago while playing Spanish Guitar in the Willie Royal Quartet. Willie Royal is the violinist of Willie and Lobo. I have always loved their rumba flamenco music and ended up meeting and befriending Willie. About seven years ago he asked if I could put together a group to play the Willie and Lobo repertoire. Needless to say I was honored. Lobo's right hand Flamenco technique was the inspiration for my own. It was songs like “The Lighthouse” that made me yearn for my own song with that feel. In the end we would perform it every Saturday night. Such a great feeling to have Willie looking over at me while we played a song I wrote honoring him and Lobo.
