When the beach party film revival arrives, Ted Feighan (aka Monster Rally) will be the Ennio Morricone of its resurgence. Mystery Cove, the forthcoming Monster Rally album, is a soundtrack to an imaginary movie both fit for the vaults of TMC and primed for a grindhouse exploitation flick screening. Mystery Cove contains a narrative arc of young lovers on an island getaway. As the grooves spin, Monster Rally reveals a cabalistic presence in the jungle that leads them on an adventure of surf competitions (“The Big Surf”), voodoo terror (“Tourismo”), and plenty of slushy cocktails (“After Hours”). The occult meets the salt-rimmed rum mix on Mystery Cove.

Since his Coral LP, Monster Rally has been an analog to the exotica forefathers. His reinvention of cocktail music via luau-loops and tchotchke breaks evokes a mondo vision of the subgenre. With Mystery Cove, the quiet village is not what it seems, and every resort comes at the cost of indigenous displacement. Beyond the florals and brightly feathered fauna is inferno in paradise.

Following widespread critical acclaim from her previous releases, Brooklyn-based Latinx singer, songwriter and producer Quelle Rox (Rocky) releases her latest single “Space Parade.”
 
The track is full of her laidback alt-pop rhythms and soft electronics - creating a dreamy soundscape for the listener to reside in. “Space Parade” is Quelle Rox’s first Spanish / English track and the dreamy tune take the listener on a journey through the cosmos, unrequited love, and finding peacefulness in the midnight sky. 

The track is about a multi colored experience-- where falling in love with the stars allowed for a brief moment of forgetting the weight of one’s own heartbreak. There's a duality of being provided by love and beautiful energy, while also acknowledging the path that led you there. This track also alludes to the future blend of the two cultures and languages, which will be explored on Quelle Rox’s future projects.
 
Preparing for the release of her forthcoming debut EP this December, Quelle Rox’s unique style proves she is one of the leading emerging artists surfacing out of Brooklyn.
