With a deep and warm bassline that picks you up and carries you across like a magic carpet, vinayak^a takes us into his dreamy world with such ease, that the listener cannot help but be transported to the ethereal realms. On the flip-side, German veteran Martin Buttrich disassembles the original into a pair of spacey delights, with his powerful yet atmospheric touch that made him one of the most respected producers around the globe.

The thirteenth release on Light my Fire comes courtesy of Robot Beauty & The Missile, a project founded by the Vienna pair of Florian Kaltstrom and Emil Berliner in the summer of 2012 whilst building a studio together. Since then they released the ‘So Wack’ EP on Be One Records, while also perusing their individual careers on labels such as Bedrock or MBF.  Here, on ‘Sometimes’, they present us with two dreamy and emotive originals that are complimented by a further two high-calibre remixes. 

‘Sometimes’ leads us through an arrangement of elevating synth motifs, techy percussion and a jumpy bassline, all held together by a vocal sample that most should be familiar with: tasteful deep house for the early hours. Niko Schwind then ups the tempo on his UK bassline-house remix, which aims straight at the dance-floor’s jugular vein.  On ‘Flutencia’ Robot Beauty & The Missile then move dub chords and mysterious flute notes effortlessly over a tech house beat, engaging the listener with a sense of urgency. Lastly, Smash TV convince with a remix that focuses on the original’s dub aspects, albeit in a reduced manner. Potent dance-floor stuff, for sure.

After a couple years behind the scenes label boss Peter Croce (aka Mr. PC) is back in the production seat to release 3 of his most prized edits with a message. First up is “Life Is A Circle”, a peak hour Philadelphia Disco classic, remastered and extended in all the right places for maximum ecstatic dance floor use. Rounding out the A side is “What Can I Do For You?”, a Gallery-era R&B proto-disco cut with a massive drum break that never got the 12” treatment that it deserved until now. On the flip Peter delivers some dance floor meditation, complete with tons of drums and dub poetry for the heads that dream of a better day. These 3 have been tried and tested on dance floors from Detroit to Chicago and London to Paris, and Rocksteady Disco is excited for you to have them in your mitts. Mr. PC Aka Peter Croce Edits - Do What You Wanna Do (Mr. PC Mystic Rhythm Dub Edit)

For the first single from a 6-track EP from Montreal's Clarian (who is also one half of Footprintz), the Canadian reached well beyond the border to collaborate with Tel Aviv-born, Madrid-based producer Guy Gerber on "Claire." Gerber has been a major player on Israel's electronic scene since 2006, running his own Supplemental Facts label and infusing traces of minimal techno, tech house, downtempo and deep house in his productions, while remaining singular in his approach. Clarian's vocal contributions were at the heart of Gerber's progressive house-leaning Fabric mix from last year, which joined the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Omar-S of artists that turned in single-artist mixes to the series. "Claire" starts amid a queasy vocal snippet (with Clarian's French whisper lodged in at the midpoint) and threatens to go darker and deeper. But a steady handclap and glimmering melodic line uplifts and casts light across this seven-minute track.
