DT is proud to present DJ MIX #582 with the French/ Canadian DJ and Producer Fred Everything - a key player in the world of House Music with two and a half decades in the music business and a discography of more than 250 releases to his credit.  This mix was recorded live at the Monkey Loft in Seattle just before the start of the pandemic in February 2020. Enjoy!

Born in Hull and raised in Quebec City, Fred caught the bug early for electronic music in high school, working summer jobs wash-ing dishes to buy his first synths. He then formed a few bands while spending his weekends as the youngest kid in local nightclubs. In the early 90s, he started playing live in raves and clubs across Canada. His first releases came out on labels such as DIY (UK), Vinyl Peace and ultimately 20:20 Vision, which launched Fred’s career in the UK and worldwide.

In the years that followed Fred Everything had an extremely fruitful time in the studio- both as a producer and remixer, releasing on countless respectable house music labels including launching his own Lazy Days imprint in 2005. The first release, Friday (Remixed by Trentemoller) became an instant classic and is still to this day the best seller on the label. Fast forward 10 years later, and Lazy Days has put out over 50 releases by esteemed artists such as : Shur-I-Kan, Ian Pooley, Kruse & Nuernberg, Atjazz, Tortured Soul, Crazy P, Greg Wilson as well as Fred’s own original projects, collaborations and remixes.

Successful in the licensing department, his productions have appeared on over 150 compilations worldwide by various artists such as Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler, Pete Tong, H-Foundation and Miguel Migs on labels like Fabric, Defected, Ministry of Sound, NRK, Universal and countless Ibiza compilations. His music was also used heavily for shows on MTV and was licensed to Virgin Airlines for their onboard entertainment system.

As a DJ, Fred has been a fixture in clubs worldwide, with his unique energetic style of mixing and ability to play with styles. He’s held residencies at SONA, Stereo and Salon Daome in Montreal as well as Next Door (Honolulu), Footwork (Toronto) and regular spots in places like Fabric (London), Smart Bar (Chicago) and Mighty(San Francisco). With over a million miles flown throughout the years, he’s played just about everywhere in the world with regular tours in Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, playing in cities such as Tel Aviv, Moscow, Istanbul, Sao Paulo and Dubai. He has also performed a festivals such as Coachella, Outside Lands, Woogie Weekend, Pik Nic Electronik, Igloofest, Coincidance, Francofolies de Larochelle and many more.

Sven Tasnadi is without doubt a firm figure in the European electronic music scene. Hailing from the German city of Leipzig, his sound has developed and reached exciting heights as his musical journey has taken him from his vivid city's club scene onto exploring Chicago house, techno and acid and finally oscillating towards minimalistic forms of deep house and percussive reduced tech-house as well as tracks on the techno side.

After releasing on several net labels Sven's career really took off as his vinyl release (a collab with Daniel Stefanik) on the Moon Harbour sub label Cargo Edition came out in 2007.  Since then his tracks have appeared on EPs released by labels such as Cocoon Recordings, Smallville Records, Poker Flat Recordings, Liebe*Detail and Ornaments. as well as 2020Vision and the Berlin based label Katermukke. Sven Väth was especially impressed by Tasnadi early on and licensed his track "Waiting For You Again" for his "Sound of Season" compilation. At the same time, Sven produced more than a dozen remixes for Steve Bug, Johannes Heil, Anja Schneider and others. With regular releases on Cargo Edition, as one of its most important artists, Sven had a considerable impact on the label’s sound.  Since a few years Sven has taken it a step further and is focussing on his own label - Headfire International, which has releases of Sven himself and the likes of Daniel Stefanik and Steve Bug. 

Playing at countless clubs and festivals across Europe Sven Tasnadi has regularly visited cities like Ibiza, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Stockholm, Barcelona and Rome, not to mention having played several times at the infamous Fabric London. Constantly working on new material, Sven keeps hitting the road to continue to DJ (or play live) and mesmerise the dancing crowds at the most important venues across Europe. Seamus Haji’s experience is all part of the mix. He has been involved in nearly all aspects of the Music Business from working in London’s most influential dance music record shops for 10 years to A&R’ing for Slip’n’Slide Records, Defected Records and Strictly Rhythm to interviewing and reviewing for seminal Dance Music publications such as Muzik Magazine, DMC Update, DJ Mag, Touch and Echoes and of course, de rigueur stints on pirate radio Girls FM being the main on in the 90’s. Since 2002 he has also been at the helm of his own much-respected house music label, Big Love (also including sister imprints Big Love Trax and Soul Love) for which he has either A&R’d, produced, remixed (or all three) nearly 400 hundred singles and mixed over 20 compilations. The man's knowledge knows no bounds, and he exemplifies that here for us in the mix.
