A melody that came to me while in deep inward journey in the Peruvian jungle, and has found its way into ceremonies, sound baths, and meditations ever since.

This medicine song came through about a week after the passing of my maternal grandmother, Dora Kaufman, who was very dear to me. I have sung it in ceremonies and sound meditations, and am often told by participants that it brings through relatives that have passed.

Spontaneous vocalizing with koshi chimes. I have experienced deeply transcendent moments with these sweet chimes, where I have heard an angelic feminine voice singing through them. This is a tribute to that experience.

Jessica Caplan is a Hudson Valley-based sound therapist and vocalist, who works with voice and sound as portals for embodiment, transformation and healing. Known for her voice-infused sound experiences and accessible, open- hearted approach to embodying the voice (Sonic Embodiment), Jessica leads immersive workshops, retreats, trainings and 1:1 mentorships in the art of therapeutic voice and sound in the Hudson Valley, New York City, and around the world.

A graduate of the Open Center’s Sound and Music Institute and Grammy award-nominated artist Silvia Nakkach’s Yoga of the Voice certificate, Jessica has facilitated hundreds of sound baths at yoga studios, retreat centers, festivals, organizations, and for private events. She's also has guided over 150 students in sound immersions that empower participants to work with voice and sound in their lives and practice. She's performed at The Rubin Museum, Envision Festival in Costa Rica, and Unifier Festival in the Berkshires. In 2019, she curated and hosted a sound therapy series at Brooklyn non-profit arts center Pioneer Works. 

You can find her sound on online meditation series SoundMind, a co-creation with yoga/meditation teacher Ally Bogard, and in the new tech/wellness startup Sanctuary in Seattle. Her work has been covered in the New York Times, the Observer, Vogue, and on CBS news. She is a Reiki practitioner, long time yoga instructor, and continues her studies and practices of classical Indian music, Native traditions, and shamanic practices as inspiration for her work. She lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband and daughter, and is currently recording an album of her medicine music.
