I played a 6hr set during the final closing month of Amsterdam’s legendary club institution De School. Here’s a 5hr extract from the set, recorded live in December 2023

This audio represents `the backing track` that we played to, whilst doing samples, synths and other trickery over it. Discovering this nearly two decades later, it stands on its own as a perfect snapshot in time. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Atlanta producer HXV (Heroes x Villains) marks a return to bass music with Waiting, the inaugural release on his new imprint Lilith. Conceived as a space for refined and uncompromising low-end explorations, Lilith positions itself at the crossroads of dubstep, drum & bass, and experimental sound design.

Waiting is a moody, atmospheric cut rooted in UK dub and garage traditions. Shuffling percussion and garage-driven drums push against a brooding backdrop, bassline midranges rip through the fabric of the track. Underneath, weighty bass pressure and shadowed textures create a track that is as cinematic as it is visceral — balancing depth, restraint, and impact.

With Waiting, HXV signals a new era — a sophisticated exploration of bass culture’s darker edges, and the beginning of Lilith’s narrative.

I wanted to make a generic original loop for a spoof news project in early 2012. As yet the show itself doesn't exist, but watch this space.

In Amsterdam's industrial West lies the cities most notorious venue, Warehouse Elementstraat. Reaktor, Dax J & Monnom Black teamed up for a monumental label party inside the epic concrete halls. Here is the closing set captured during the murky hours of that first New Years Day morning of 2019.
