JESSIE EVANS is a singer, musician, producer and performer from California who is currently based in Berlin. She released her first solo album "IS IT FIRE?” last year on her label FANTOMETTE RECORDS, and since then has played over 40 concerts in France and 150 worldwide, including opening for both THE GOSSIP and IGGY AND THE STOOGES in Germany, as well as for IGGY at  L’OLYMPIA in Paris last month.

Her first solo release “IS IT FIRE?  was recorded between Berlin and Mexico and features live drums and percussion by Toby Dammit (Iggy Pop, Swans)  guest musicians Budgie (The Creatures, Siouxsie and The Banshees), Martin Wenk (Calexico), and Namosh. Recorded in part by Thomas Stern (Einstürzenden Neubauten, Crime and The City Solution) and mixed/ co-produced in Tijuana by Pepe Mogt (Nortec Collective).  With the sensual yet chaotic charm of a shipwrecked sailorette dancing in a hurricane, IS IT FIRE ? ventures into an exotic world of rhythm, reaching from the flesh and beyond to a place where drums conjure up images of latin heroes Perez Prado, Yma Sumac, afro-beat, nu-No wave, and a touch of Istanbul. Her live shows are best described as a” cabaret style overdrive, legs and arms flailing in what can only be described as cha-cha on dirty dirty speed.”


THE BARKING DOGS is a musical project by Italian dj-duo, Cristian Croce and Nicola Mazzetti.. The music takes its roots in Original Disco and old-school house music, deeply influenced from different cultural contaminations coming from both past sounds and new stuff. Rock and tech crossed with groovy and soulful beats, riding the awesome vibes that only a vinyl groove under a needle can give. The owners of one of the best record shops in Milan “Serendeepity”, the Barking Dogs live for music.  As managers and resident djs of the Discosafari Nights, The Barking Dogs promote the Italian and international disco- house movement, collaborating with the most significant names of  the underground field and always  with support from djs like Severino ( Horse Meat Disco) , Prins Thomas, James Murphy, Ellen Allien and Todd Terje.

After meeting with singer and sax-player Jessie Evans, the "versus" project was born. "Versus" is fundamentally a remake of the tracks "Scientist Of Love" and "Let Me On" taken from the album "Is It Fire". Here the duo uses vocals and sax lines from Jessie, adding grooves and melodies now typically associated with the BD. The release (the second on Mad On The Moon Records) includes 2 remixes signed by the Norwegian Rune Lindbaek and Altz of Japan.
