Mixed down by John Gaff and his team, this song I recorded with my band Discordant Harmonies, called "Najmah" (meaning "Star" in Arabian). Our band consists of myself and Rhianna Kyllo on Vocals, Michelle Panetta and Andrew Hurley on Guitar, Lachlan Bryce on Bass Guitar, and Isaac Bradbury on drums.
Very Middle Eastern influenced. Lyrics by both Jessica Lapina and Rhianna.

"Najmah" by Discordant Harmonies

I wrote this and recorded this when i was in the Philippines. It's about being so in love with someone, but being tied down by society's opinions and your so called "relationship problems" that sometimes you forget that really, you love that person, and that's all that's really important. You never really get to appreciate a relationship, or what you have, until it's gone from you...

Wrote this in High School for my band "Default" in 2007. ;p Recorded this for the second time as a solo in 2010, again in the Philippines. haha
It's pretty much a self explanatory song, but really, it's about triumphing over heartbreak and heart ache, even though he cheated on you ;p Haha it's even better that you were "just being nice" and originally buying time trying to find a way to break up with him in a "nice" way. Lol! Hehe...

One of the very first songs I have ever written. This particular song means alot to me as it was written during a time in my life when I felt like I couldn't be the person who I knew I really was on the inside; I didn't speak my mind and what I really thought, and I always kept things bottled up. It was a hard time in my life, but when i wrote this song, honestly, it was an accomplishment; a first time genuine expression of who I really was and how I truly felt inside. Haha I'm sure everyone has experienced one of these moments at some stage of their lives. High School was that stage for me... and honestly, I'm a stronger person for it.
Funny how the songs you write become the ways you remind yourself of the lessons you've learnt, and just how far you've come, ey?

When Will I Be Me

This was the first song I'd ever written. ;p hahaha it holds a lot of sentimental value for me, even though I've grown up a lot since this song :) I wrote this back when I was 14. The instrumental arrangement was created back when i was 16 by my brother, Michael Lapina, and then revamped and recorded while I was in - you guessed it! - the Philippines! haha :)

It's All Because of You

I wrote this for my Cousin's 18th. I figured, we all have that day when we finally have to say goodbye to our childhood... but what does that child have to say about that? 
Haha a bitter-sweet song... but a good one :) I arranged the Piano to represent adulthood and childhood; the childhood being the higher, more innocent notes, and the lower, being the more mature and adult ones. Hehe, the arrangement tells a story too..
