From the depths of an ancient dark underworld, Nigh/T\mare has conjured a powerful offering of burning emotions that light the fires of one’s demons and invite the beginning of an epic journey through the unknown. Via Thrènes Records from Switzerland, this offering is on point with their consistent releasing of top quality industrial/experimental techno. Entitled ‘Katharsis’, this artistically crafted set of tracks in the form a debut album twists and turns its way over tribal rhythms with dynamic feels and beating drums that break down anything standing in the way. A powerful offering from the depths of the soul.

‘Impure’ is a powerful opener, like an army banging its drums and marching towards the fight, this track sets the stage from the drama to come. Like a speeding train through dystopia the injection of adrenaline comes in the form of ‘Self Immolation’ which makes the heart beat with the force of a 100 pounding drums. Tribal percussion keeps banging its way through ‘Anti Balaka’ before slowing into a deep melancholic track by the name of ‘Unarmed’. Slowly building out of the calm ‘Unavoidable Unveiling’ creates tension with droning notes and broken industrial percussion laying the soundscapes. ‘Doomed to Struggle’ Feat. Prophän is a dramatic pushing and pulling of the hard hitting sounds and ritualistic chanting before diving into the galvanic rhythms of ‘The Summoning’ Feat. LAIR. ‘The Path of Moans’ brings the mood to a sombre place where the whispers from the demons below can be heard alongside the chiming of distant bells. Pact Infernal’s remix of ‘Impure’ demands attention as it offers chaos into the fold along with viciously delicious synths. Torn Relics remix of ‘The Summoning’ builds into an onslaught of relentless percussion and deep howls from the underworld which leave you with chills running down your spine. A fitting ending to an impressive array of dynamic tracks, this is an experience never to be forgotten.

On July 15, 2022, Anetha will release her second seismic
compilation on her label Mama told ya entitled MTY-TERRE
«Contre tout, toutes et tous, la terre demeure», just one year
after MTY-EAU «L’eau repousse les feux agressifs».

Through earth element, the compilation comes up with the
collaboration of 19 artists - 19 tracks, divided into 4 vinyls: Ane-
tha has brought together a generation of young electronic
music artists from around the world to get their hands dirty
and produce some solid gems.

Onleash - Poppers delight

“Two Duos” is pressed from cellist Okkyung Lee’s most recent OTO Residency; the first side a duo with Jérôme Noetinger on Revox B77 and the second with Nadia Ratsimandresy on Ondes Martenot. Cut together, the two meetings seem to raise three cellos in the search for expressive voice: the cello, it’s magnetic reproduction, and the dual controls of the machine invented to expand on its musical qualities.

On the A side Noetinger’s opening tape hiss establishes a current; an electrical partner who gives Lee room to slide across and stretch out. Progressively the cello is returned, duplicated and manipulated with increased velocity and distortion. Noetinger draws out the full extent of Lee’s extended technique; rewinding strands of Lee's horse hair and transmuting her percussive attacks into shuddering echos, before letting his own concrete interjections spin the duo's sonic tussle into an almost romantic daydream.

On side B the ondes (invented by French cellist and wartime radio operator Maurice Eugene Louis Martenot and so loved by Bernard Parmegiani, Varese and Messiaen) seems shaken from classical tradition and those long, drawn out horrorscapes it has come to be associated with. In a duel with Lee, Ratsimandresy grasps the ondes’ extraordinary capacity for dexterity, nuance and speed, hounding Lee’s cello in a bid to drive her instrument out of the past and into the future.

Two fantastic pairings and a testament to the freshness with which Lee and her collaborators continue to work with their instruments.

For its second release, Forbidden Teachings is proud to welcome back Italian artist  
Nigh/T\mare with his ep "Ceremony", which also features a remix by Alexey Volkov.    
    
While staying true to his sound, the artist invites the listener on a journey, reminiscent 
of a ceremony where opposing forces reach equilibrium. Light and darkness, hope 
and despair, instinct and reason, humanity and technology... It is between these 
tensions that this journey seeks to find a balance.    
    
The richness of these themes is represented through four distinct and skillfully crafted 
tracks that blend powerful drums and immersive atmospheres.    
    
Finall, the journe ends with Alexe Volkov's interpretation of “The Cr of 
Diomedee”  almost entirel performed with live instruments, adding another color to 
this already rich ep.

Although we avoid pain,
if it is the price paid for pleasure and does not exceed the desired result in its strength, we are ready to go through this pain

My contribution to ZNZL's charity compilation for earthquake-affected people in Morocco.

On September 8, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck central Morocco, causing significant human casualties, destroying homes, and inflicting severe damage.

In response to this event, a collective of artists joined forces to create a charity compilation aimed at raising awareness and providing essential support for the affected communities.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed, shared, and offered their support. Every effort counts, and your involvement has been invaluable.
All proceeds generated from this fundraising initiative will be directed towards supporting organisations actively involved in providing assistance on the ground. Your generosity will have a meaningful impact on helping the affected regions recover and rebuild their lives. and Nightmare, well known for their dark and abyssal deep productions. Within its confines,
a sonic landscape unfolds, blending gritty industrial beats with ritualistic undertones. Across
four tracks raw visceral energy pulsates, each piece imbued with its own distinct vibe. The
first track “Portale” by Nigh/T\mare sets the mood with an orchestra of merciless percussion
and faint melodies. It is followed by Vū’s “Cruda” which accelerates the tempo, playing
frenetic Arabic percussions on odd rhythms surmounted by his eerie voice echoing in the
distance. To complete the EP the 2 artists remix each other’s tracks adding darkness to

Born of queen and champion’s fiery might,

Leader of a cult, to serpents they’d pray,

In the Shattering’s wake, Rykard sought power,
Fed himself to the serpent at the twilight hour.
Great Rune in hand, to the beast he did bind,

Once noble ambitions, to depravity fell,
Feasting on champions, in the serpent’s dark cell.
His forces, once loyal, now turned away,

After These Hidden Hands re-surfaced earlier this year with the collaborative single These Moments Dismantled featuring Lucrecia Dalt, Tommy Four Seven and Alain Paul a.k.a. Shards are set to release Vicarious Memories, their second full length LP, on August 8th 2016.

Vicarious Memories builds substantially upon the sound forged with their debut album and brings a considerable new level of detail, complexity, and musicality, which ranges from flowing mellifluous grooves, somber drones, to the outright bizarre and unexpected. Although loosely an instrumental electronic album, the album makes extensive use of guitar and vocals and features prominent guest vocal contributions from underground Berlin based musicians Julia Kotowski and Ale Hop. The album’s preceding single, SZ31X71, a track which features on the LP is out July 11th, featuring a remix by revered Tri Angle artist, Roly Porter.

Vicarious Memories will be released via the group’s own imprint, Hidden Hundred available both digitally and as a 12″ vinyl LP featuring gatefold cover art by Norwegian illustrator Anders Røkkum.

Spheres is the first in a series of “documents” by Research, which intends to unite a diverse selection of artists around a common theme. The inspiration for this initial document comes from artist and mathematician Timothy Cresswell, whose carving of spheres covered in mathematical figures – a holistic, meditative process he refers to as “tuning” – has taken place for over fifty years and has inspired the art direction of his son Daniel. 

The leadoff track “Radon” from These Hidden Hands – the production duo of Tommy Four Seven and Alain Paul – does so with a red-toothed yet synthetic menace and with percussive patterns like an artillery barrage. Mondkopf then dials back the aggression somewhat for his piece “The Runaway,” yet keeps the sense of transformative tension running high with sculpted static, nervous Geiger counter ticking and majestic layered synths. SNTS closes out the A-side with the appropriately named “Dunkelheit,” a slow and steady audio journey – complete with dramatic pauses – through black rains and monolithic structures used for ritualistic purposes. The B-side opens with Oake’s “Blemmyae,” a slowly unfurling mass of audio fog whose hypnotically austere rhythm track – almost entirely composed from a single martial snare hit and a punishing digital bass drum – is used as bait to lure listeners into a force field of precisely interwoven drones and doppler-effect mayhem. Headless Horseman sustains this atmosphere with a club track for an alien homeworld: a dense mixture of shuddering / shattering percussion, imperious synth swells and crackling bursts of raw electricity. Grebenstein’s “Meet My Needs” delivers the final statement for this particular document, utilizing carefully segmented white noise and synthesized pulmonary sound as the basis for an ascension to uncharted mental realms.
