Dark, tactile sounding house music, brimming with atmosphere, 'Strange Design' covers all the bases for a twisted night out .

Following a busy year which saw him perform at Farr Festival and Wiggle, and start a weekly radio show on S-Dance Live, as well as the Isolater Show on Sub FM, Ollie Drummond (AKA The Jester) gets back in the studio for his second release on Isolater.

The opener 'Vapour Trails' belongs in any smoke filled arena; driven by a punchy bassline and crisp stabs, it takes a spooky and euphoric turn. 'Landing' shows Drummond's evil side. Another peak time banger, backed with paranoiac canned laughter, its gritty bass morphs into tweaked acid. Cruiser' is a solid tech-house roller. With a bouncy bassline and snatched vocals, its guaranteed to get feet moving, while 'Vapo Dub' - a deeper edit of the opening track - shows the extent of Drummond's abilities. More the DJ Tool, it draws attention to the sounds and sub bass, rounding off the release.

This time we welcome Slightly Off head Luigi Seija with a very trippy track to say the least. Original The original is built on a seductive House groove and interweaves vocal elements and some lovingly produced synth sounds to keep you squarely locked in to proceedings. The track is dubby yet trippy at the same time. An infectious bassline has had clubbers stomping their feet when we have road tested this mix at recent parties. With previous releases on esteemed Wiggle records and Rob Pearson’s Evasive Records, he continues his run of form with a funky sleek all round fresh release with the Snout & About EP. Starting off with the grooving stripped-back Out Grazing, funky haunting chords splash around a wobbly lead that’s guaranteed to stick in your head for days after the party is done. Next up is the ominous Tunnel Music, which takes you in and out with low swung filters and snappy synth hits.
