This is a cover demo we've made of a Caetano Veloso's song from the "O Estrangeiro" album.

This is the very first complete demo of my song Shine. There is another short demo where I recorded only 2 verses since that was the only thing I had by the time. But this one is complete.
I'm using a Casio CZ-1000 for the bass, the guitar and the strings. I'm also using it to trigger the sampled drums I made from the New Order "Vanishing Point" song. It was sampled by an old Boss Delay pedal.
Three Boss pedals were used for most of the instruments - Delay, Flanger and Equalizer.
And old double-tape deck was used to record myself playing each instrument at a time. No sequencer were used here. You probably can tell that by the way I lose the timing a lot ;)

Dawnfine - Shine (The Complete CZ-1000 Demo - 1995)

This is a demo composed, sequenced and arranged by Marcus.
At some point in time between 2000 and 2002, he came to me with its instrumental Fruityloops demo and started singing along with it. Then I introduced a bridge idea to the song and tried to record its vocals, together with Jim singing the 2nd voices, so that Marcus would have a better idea of the changes.
And of course, when Jim and I are together, there's always a "fooling around" kind of jam... which we recorded a little bit at the end of this demo ;)

We were all discovering and learning Fruityloops by the time. And to put voices on it, we had to move the instrumental song into SoundForge, to paste vocals (already with effects) inside the song. And it was a terribly hard and destructive process. Impossible to get back to the original audio if something went wrong in the process.

...a little instrumental "playing around with" version, made with CZ-1000 (bass & drums), and an acoustic guitar plugged on some Boss pedals.
