Jethro Heston re-asserts himself as one of the UK’s most exciting underground prospects with his first release of 2017.

His upbeat, vocal house cut, features acclaimed Baltimore singer/songwriter Max Marshall (who previously featured on Matrix & Futureboard’s Top 10 smash ‘Control’). Blending crunching beats, melodic synths and a hook-laden bassline, Jethro’s new heater incorporates old-school tempo and soulful vocals to solid effect.

‘Cut Me Loose’ points the way to a slew of new material from the London producer and if there’s more from where this came from in terms of immediate warehouse-level danceability, his collaboration with Cardboard Foxes and Max Marshall should lead to a significantly increased reputation for the emerging new talent.

Jethro Heston continues his reputation as of the UK’s most exciting underground prospects with his second release of 2017 – a murky, edgy banger ft. emerging London vocalist SJ Green.

Following the notable success of his first track of the year – a remix of Cardboard Foxes’ ‘Cut Me Loose’ featuring Baltimore singer/songwriter Max Marshall, Jethro continues the output quality with a deeper sound. ‘Spend Some Time’ is a significantly darker offering – metallic synths and a treble to baritone vocal drop takes this cut straight back to the 90s warehouse raves - this is the kind of house to resonate off of dancefloors.

A more sophisticated, considered side to Jethro on this track, ‘Spend Some Time’ was both written and produced by the artist and underlines the quality levels and direction the emerging producer is leading towards. We said on his first release that if there’s more where this came from in terms of immediate warehouse-level danceability, Jethro’s future was bright indeed. He’s done exactly that; ‘Spend Some Time’ should cement Jethro’s growing reputation as a talent to be reckoned with.

A little present for you. I made this track 6 years ago in 2011 and came across it today whilst searching through my old files. Never heard by anyone but me. It differs from my current style but feels good to listen to... uplifting, deep, intense, just how I like it. The vocal sample still gives me goosebumps. Enjoy.

As the name suggests, Heston’s latest single is an evocative, reminiscent cut inspired by Grammy award-winning artist and the undisputed Godfather of House music, Frankie Knuckles.

“We used to wanna hear that shit that Frankie plays” the spoken topline preaches over a dubbed-out bassline as the record enters its first breakdown, “at the warehouse…” it continues, “we call it house music…”

Hypnotic, deep and soulful across its blissful five-minute duration, this is a modern cut with an unmistakably vintage feel, from an iconic producer with an incredible knack for producing top quality house music.
